Isn't that inefficient? The switch would be everywhere... There's too much of a difference between 5017 and 5390. I'd rather settle on one. I chose 5000 since there aren't many servers out there on that patch (or none at all).

You could make a separate application that "compiles" your server for a selected patch, and place the switches in that one.

Or #if _5017 etc.

Though the first idea IMO is better, allowing you to add new versions in the future easier.
