EO is International as in they have different versions of it in different countries so I'm thinking they pretty much legal right to sue or whatever worldwide. if I'm mistaken then please correct me but that's how I see it.

then don't have any employees in europe afaik.

it doesent matter where you are guys, i just talked to my lawyer, they are able to sue you and where in the world, you are using there material and there copy righted slogans (EO).

But the good thing my lawyer said is they will most likely not follow threw with it if you are living out side of Canada or the USA, because it will mainly cost them loads of money to stop you, so my lawyer told me to tell you guys that do not live in Canada or the USA, to to careful, and if they do email you or call you, just be mature about it, and ask them what actions will they take if you refuse to shut down in the 12 hour period they give you.

oh and also i would call a lawyer in your country and ask them exacly if you are safe to do this even tho they are based in the USA and you are based some where els, its also a smart thing to ask a lawyer so you know if TQ is able to sue your ass.

umm forcer isnt swede.. the server is only in sweden..
the police there get 90 000 internetcrimes/year
200 of them goes to court
50 of them is guilty

swedish police dont give damn about something small as this lol
and if we get sued it will take them 1,5 years to close it down cuz swedish police dont have the time for closing a private gameserver down when they dont even have the right in this country to close down thepiratebay

and if we are find guilty we will pay a fine of maximum 130 dollars..
and tq will probably pay millions :D

*edit*
just did a research of illegal onlinegameservers hosted in sweden..
none whatsoever have been fined..
not even approved for going to court ;D

*edit2*
if they for some reason makes police take it down.. we just move it to another host in sweden with another owners name and process will take another 1.5 years :D

*edit3*
more research... hosting a server isnt illegal as long as the server software isnt illegal
and altering the clients isnt on the serverowners tables.. its the users, not the owners that alter it.. and for hosting copyrighted material... can u get sued by microsoft by putting up a new shell, or whatever? nope.. and nor can u get sued byt uploading fixes fo their programs.. :D

Well right about now net dragon is just being a bitch in my eyes. I see them calling people and shuting them down because it's taking people away from playing the real eo and not buying eps.

Hey nooneatall, I live in UK... what's the UK go about private servers and stuff? Cuz I really don't see how the UK would have time to close a small server down from a company they've never heard of.. I mean there's murders happening, Who cares about a server on a virtual game?

it's about pressure on UK officals, about contacts and power. not about majority of crime as we all know. so if they got lucky, police can go with it pretty easily. as you know, there are lots of affairs on internet, and EO is not the only mmorpg that has illegal servers open. so I would wait, if something happens, you can always trash your HDD with hammer :)

I don't think if you write "copyright (c) TQ Digital <year>" in your program, that it actually makes it copyrighted.. Don't they have to file a copyright form or something?

Also, a TOS doesn't justify legal action, just because the TOS says you cannot use their client with any server other than their own doesn't mean they can take legal action..

And, if you write your own server source code, isn't it now your property and they have no say if you can or cannot run it?

I'm not sure about any of this, just speculations..

yes and its the users fault if they use the client to connect to my homebrewed server.. not mine :D

its the users who violate the tos.. not us :D
