The only thing that (in my opinion) makes java a bad language is the performance.
But I'm happy to sacrificate a bit of performance if I get:
- Consistent naming
- Big documentation
- Total portability (as you can see, I don't use windows [don't want to pay for something buggy if I can get something better and free], I'm running debian and so, if I just used linux libraries [like most of the programmers here and C#] none in this forum would benefit of the tools I make)
- Syntax simplified
- Extensive API
Also:
- IBot
- KBot
- OpenStealth
- KOpenStealth
- Kerkava
All of them were written in java and I didn't hear anything bad about that back to those days.
I don't want to start the World Wide Programming Language 2 war, but it seems that everyone just see's the cons of a language that they (for whatever reason) don't work with and can't see the cons of his preferred language.

Actually a programmer is a programmer, no matter the language. I find PHP a pretty funny language (the fact that it's interpreted gives you a lot more of liberty than precompiled languages, for example class autoloading, property injection...).
I want to finish the PS I'm working on with Yuuki and then I'll come back to desktop programming.
See you!
