Hello Silkroad community and happy 20 years of silkroad!
Tldr : I have all the tools and team needed to create a silkroad online remake where Joymax left the game dead :
New graphics for all textures for old pc and also an option to include RTX for high end pc
New npcs walking around town
AI voicelines for dialogues
New pvp fluid animations and skills for all classes for a more clear skill based pvp rather than luck
Good job system which is balanced between all 3 factions (auto caravan, special trade for thieves)
Sustainstable economy without headless progressive endgame with different modes like moba, fortress war
P2w and play2win balacing
Boss Monsters with real gameplay
New content for the community
Advanced events like town raids
And finally a way to earn real life money playing the game.
With those things we can rework silkroad from the core without changing the old game and engine but adding life to where it felt dead and bringing it to the world as a 2025 game standards.
I want to inform that this project could be done in next year or next 10 year depending who is involved with me. I have my own funding, and 2 key options for developers who can help me create this project but both require alot of money for things sro has never seen, so I am comming to announce this project and request your support. I could create half of everything listed as of now, but the problem is it is not good enough for the title of a remake and I want everyone the play silkroad in 2025 finally happy without any worry that the server will ever die and that their characters created will matter forever and the server will thrive in activity.
This is the first time I announce this project, I have played sro and always saw big spots that could be improved but none took action, no one dared to go further and completely make this game better at the core to fix the problems the game always faced even as of today which is unreal. All servers die due to same reason and we want it to end. We need a change and that time is now. Today this could be possible due to the development and accest to sro files but also new tools online. Over the years and I watched and waited for this opportunity, not for me, but for the silkroad community and for the love for the best game ever create. We shall have our defined private server and game. We just need to be united and the game will be ours forever and no one will take it from us.
Why Trust This Vision?
I’ve been a dedicated Silkroad player for almost 20 years. I’ve seen the highs and lows, the potential and the flaws. Unlike others, I’m not doing this for profit — I’m doing this because we, the Silkroad community, deserve a game that truly represents our passion. Together, we can create a server that doesn’t just survive, it thrives. This is our game, and it’s time to take ownership of its future.
Next I will explain the plan and how everything mentioned will really work in detail to create the definitive version of a silkroad online mmo-rpg. Understanding the plan is at key to see the potential of a server that never ends. Mentioning all of the things above can be done and I have funds but not for all of the features, also confirmation from developers, we just need the popularity and the money to start it and finish it asap with all of the updates included, and not just a few. This is our chance to remake Silkroad Online as the definitive MMORPG it always had the potential to be on the same engine. Together, we can make it a reality but I can’t do this alone.F
New Graphics
1. Remember the how cool silkroad was in 2005? The SkillPoints flowing into your body was peak game aesthethic and I want to keep that feeling. Through the advancement of graphics cards, there are a few options nowadays adding on top of ai programs and with the nvidia development. First option is to take all game texture and scale with ai the to look beautifully and not pixelated. Forget the old looking mobs of Jangang and Donwhang, with new textures they will look good without impacting performance, same for weapons and same for building. We can also fix map collision problems, fix Constantinople wierd houses and even create new character model in the starting screen.
The second thing we have today is RTX remix which can be seen in action on youtube. Just look for it RTX Silkroad and you will see. This is still in the development of the creator and It requires from you a strong video card supporting RTX remix which is something new. With refine tuning from this guy we might even have RTX, hope he will finish it cause he seems like he abandoned the project. Other people I know already try and it's complicated to work with it and need alot of work and attention. Going for the first option and later adding this too could be good. Maybe if the developer will help us implement this we would have a high end gpu graphic remake.
Another thing I can do is work with the game visuals for Burn, bless, stun etc. Since the game became in the private server area more intense in large scale battles, it became really hard to see those effect, debuffs or buffs. Reworking the healthbar and providing them above the character with better visually distinctive clarity for those large scale battles which will help the game be more skill based and team oriented for everyone.
Another thing I can make is create graphic scenes for teleporting, loading screen and for introduction of uniques in battle.
Skills like old vfx like Noise from bard be textured into better high quality ones and small fixes that were needed for so long. Regarding graphics improvement I can mention increasing background sight is already something many server have an we will too. 1 thing to mention about what the server should not have is anything too noisy, sparkly and out of this default game graphics. Keeping the silkroad aesthetic is very important. Also more aspects will be clarified in the other sections too since all of them create a bigger picture of what the project will look like.
Adding life to the world
2.If you are a hardcore player or a casual player you have seen a full server and a dead server over the years. What none of those offered is life from within the game. Where are the people of Constantinople in the fish market, in the streets, what about the army of Donwhang and so many more. We could bring life by adding npcs doing real trades, real action from spawning events where npc thiefs enter town and you have to defend. We can take off the limits of the game as I said, the core can be changed. Imagine no safe zone in the city for an event where thiefs try to steal a city, a city with traders having quests depending on the needs of the towns people and adjusting based on what is missing from the life of the city. All this things can be done to fill the empty space and give silkroad the rpg aspect it misses. Ever wanted to fish for gold? What about having a proffesion as an academician, taking in academy players and fulfiling a quest with the which acts as power leveling. Let's talk about what can be filled in and leave your suggestions down if they are real, logical and could fit into the silkroad world better and not change it. Also I am thinking of creating baghdad as a new starting region for people who never player higher caps. Everything will be open and subject to change but not from the core story. Implementing a new race is also on the vision but not doable without your support and opinions.

3. This is a thing every mmorpg has today and will raise silkroad to be on top with them. And here I want to ask you, the community and everyone in silkroad development to work together either by
donating,
spreading the word or
volunteer your work to make this game stand out with all the new games. Adding new features like this one can be costy and time consuming. We as a community have different visions but this is not something a game should not have as of 2025. Looking at other mmorpg takes the joy from us loving the game, but if it can be done, why not! I will ensure lusty voices from female character as well as many more new npcs with stories around the world of silkroad that joymax did not bother to add. As mentioned here, yes I want to have different types of quests then the hardcore 500 mobs type quests, attention, we can ofcourse let those quest active, but add also a different type of quest lines that will make you curious more about the world of silkroad based on real life events and facts none the less. I want to feel immersed in the silkroad world is something everyone has in common when playing any sort of game, especially one that you love for so long. If we make it together we could create and vote as a community. The direction should be clear and we can make it, only together.
Pvp fluidity
4.I will work on not changing the pvp, but rather fix what were the flaws withing player combat. Knock-Down bug is already fixed and Imbue bug, but there are some that can't be fixed without working again on the core fundamentals. Silkroad is a point and click, kill the player health bar type combat, which is not bad, but it's in need to more skill variety. By skill I mean player outsmarting enemy and using corect timing casting of skills to influence it's cance of winning. Having this as a core for pvp, balacing comes easy after. Forget the days of playing blader and your main pvp look like kd, stab stab pray for crit. New innovative ways are implemented like in other mmorpg and we will take inspiration from there to make all classes having a type of play which is unique to them. Class variety is good and will always remain as it is. I have further examples but I will stop here. Why? Because first we need the bigger picture of the server to be done and then we can go into each build and create it's unique playstyle. I want to give some early information because some servers already implemented this. We want to work around Buffs, Debuffs and especially impairs, they have to be more impactful in critical scenarios. All this pairs together perfectly with the fluidity of animations and the new improved vfx for status effects to be better seen. The thing we will do is work with purification pills and universal pills to merge them together on a set cooldown so these effects could further increase the high skill ceiling of a player vs player scenarios but also team battles.
Job system
5.If we work on the new job system or the old we can't tell you until we have your support as a community, but certainly we can tell that both job systems have flaws. I prefer the old job system and with the of 2 new special good traders in 1. Forrest of sorrow (Constantinople) 2.Evil Order Fortress (Samarkand) we can continue to develop the story of Silkroad. This 2 new traders open for new trade routes, and for thieves it will be a new trading spot during the special good times. This system paired with npcs trading with a caravan at random from city, will ensure activity from all 3 factions and will be the core of the game. Gold being the primary resource for everything in this game, will mean a constant war between them for resources as it should be, filled with activity. The events I talked about before where we can make even more events for thieves to raid a town full of npc Guards and players will also add more realism to the game. This can be achieved too depending on you spreading the word about this idea of a remake. Remember, it is very important and everything I mention at 5 can be done different if we vote as a community and figure the best way to enjoy the trading system which is the most important. Hearing your opinion could mean alot to this post success and this server creation.
Proggressive cap?
6.And here we are, at the breaking point of any silkroad server. What do we do when we reach max gear. I would not trade cause I'm here at the top is one of the most killing things servers have to witness. Again, hearing your opinion is detrimental but I think I found a way. When we look at other games we see same greed runing the economy, items, loot, faime and then emptyness. In a world of a great succes like silkroad the company in title decided to expand a new theritory with each time a season has reached it's limit. This is very refresing adding new map, new monster and new skill. Everyone feels like they live the game in progression, which is not bad. But with time every game if it's not good meets it's end, either from inside it's game developers or the community. There is 1 game that made it always cap 80 and never expanded in gear but in dungeons, there are game that are only hardcore pvp and rob new players, yes there is possibility, but it's outside what you know from Silkroad. A concept I have in mind is tieing the gold economy from tradeing to somewhere else. First is a new game mode that would be top notch polished like a moba within the game, pvp tournaments, and a real way to make money for yourself. Combining these 3 aspects will deliver all the package a great game means to your life and keep you playing without needing to worry you will get bored at the end of your gear. That's where the game should begin. I can sponsor , ftw with real money, not just the first ones based on server donations, I can host paied PvP tournaments weekly, I can let everyone sell items for real money and on top of all, we won't have a gm, so to make things clear, corruption has a big no in a community game. Money will flow from trades into this events, that cost. The richest character will be out of context cause it's a game where everyone will compete for money. If the game has all this addictiveness, intriguiness from the new aspects mentioned and competitive skill based modes, it can't fail, it will be always played because it sparks all our interest for the game.
Play2win vs Pay2win
7.Makeing a great mmorpg means balacing donator hardcore vs non donator casual player. There is a way to do it and involves splitting some things you can buy only with cash and some things that come as free from play2win aspect. This topic is something really I'm not going in to, me being a more casual player over the years can't say I have experience but I can say that avatars will be end game and not for everyone. So all the armor dg 1-10 lovers will benefit from the reworked textures alot in 2025. Donators can stand out from models from JellyBitz that close resemble the world of silkroad without looking from another game. Silkroad is a beautifull game and we can make it become popular even outside it's community.
Boss monsters game battle
8.Whats the boss monster of silkroad? An unique you would think but no. A boss monster is clearly ROC. Roc is the combination of all community, lore and the peak of silkroad gameplay. We will rework ROC to have intreaguing battle system, provide necessary visual reworks as well as textures and gameplay in this boss monster. Boss monster will be Medusa too, I will try and if we get the money from donation ask for a tomb B3,B4 complet rework to make it better and add same gameplay variety to Medusa paired with cut scenes and with balancing. Other one could be Seth from Job temple. Same scenario. Other uniques will keep the same gameplay or if the server launches and with time, who knows. Please support this project and my dream of a good silkroad server will be in my grasp and I will sure deliver it. Speaking about Uniques, don't you hate repetitive dungeons? I will try to make each dungeon as a part of a story and every team of players will have to do it 1 time and fill the part of each of them in the real silkroad story. The dungeons will be alot harder and competitive, you can fail and that's a sad last time you can go there, or not? Who knows it's still just a thought.
Ofcourse there are many things I did not mention that are esentials : what cap will it be? will it be bot or non bot? These things should be understood by filling in the full picture of this project. Hope you enjoyed and I wait your opinions, support and donations to make this as fast as possible.
