If we're talking about epvp, then yes, around 3-4 AM it goes offline to make a backup - one might mistake it for some kind of an error.

I know this is waaaaaaaaaaay too off-topic, but it's really bugging me for about 2-3 days, did anyone notice a high CPU usage for skype recently? I looked into it and it appears that the latest version is the problem.

I don't update it since I installed it, no reason to do so, so cant really tell. For me it stays at 1% CPU usage most of the time.

Skype updates are SHIT, I remember an update that made the whole Windows 7 freezing and lagging and required safe-mode-uninstall. I stopped doing updates since then.

EDIT: However, sometimes you should pay attention to security updates, they're important.

I left auto updates on and got 6.11 version, which I read on skype forums that its using too much CPU.

I noticed some stuttering in the latest version too, however skype has always had a relatively high impact on my computer, unfortunately I can't really think of any alternative with the same usergroup, sound quality and latency. Also using older versions is not a great idea either, some versions simply have real security issues, I guess they'll fix it soon enough if there are multiple people experiencing the same problem

6.11 here, no lag at all, 0% cpu usage.

Somebody has a wooden PC!

Using my laptop, Skype has some heavy performance issues for me, I have to disable it upon startup, and use only when neccessary, otherwise my laptop lags like shit (4gb ram)

Same thing here, 48% cpu usage lmao what a joke.

The annoying thing is is that I barely ever use Skype, and I often forget about it

It's not always about a wooden pc, even if you got 8 cores you will still see a 20% usage
