I'm sorry ? Users should do themselves what the programmer didn't bother with, which is a basic and needed function on any application ? Just no.
If you have no way to close a program other than killing its process, then it's poorly made and requires attention or even a complete overhaul. The task manager and the various OS commands were not designed for users to deal with this kind of problem.
That's even more of a problem when you're able to notice that an incredible amount of people don't have an idea of what a process is.

Click Here To Register...] : I use it because it's public, and also because it makes me aware of everything that isn't right in stuff I program : crappy user interface (even text doesn't display correctly), unresolved critical errors, useless warnings (patcher is already opened, is that so ?), memory leaks (process takes 350 MB after a few hours), crash after only one hour, your trainer has them all. It not only looks like crap, it also is coded the crappy way.
Don't get me started, I'm sure I can find a few more.
