yep thats why i stopped too. also no devlopment... easy updates like top user ranking is apprently to hard for him. excuse always the shitty 2030 client.

I'm nearly working 24/7 on our XDream client, and it really starts to pay off!
So I'm very proud to show you all the progress that has been made!

Some normal players already had a chance to test out the client, and they are now more than ever thrilled to experience it permanently!

Even though the progress is incredible, I'm still not able to provide any dates when this client is going to be launched publicly :feelsbadman:

What engine did you use for this?
I tried to do this with HTML-5 years ago, but it started to lose a lot of performance in heavier parts for not having a real multithreaded system so I abandoned the project.
it was still much better than Flash Player of course, it's one of the reasons BigPoint is making a new client.

You really think BP is making a new client?
It's the same as people said when Flash EOL happened that BP is making a new ?unity? client (I think it was unity)

I'm 100% sure they are not working on a new client, nor they will start working on a new client.

As mentioned earlier, we have decided to switch to the same technology we are already using for Farmerama: Unity

In Farmerama's transition process, we have gained many positive experiences and are convinced that Unity is the right technology for our future. As a future-proof technology, Unity will allow us to maintain Farmerama, DarkOrbit, and Seafight at a high level of quality, as well as provide exciting new content to keep these games enjoyable for years to come.

No completely new game will be developed, but only the current game will be converted to a new technology. This will guarantee that gameplay and graphics will remain unchanged and that it will still be playable in the browser. Ideally, not even a difference will be noticeable when the conversion is complete.

Thank you for your attention. We look forward to seeing you again on the game client and later on the Unity platform.

Yea, but it's just an announcement, everyone can announce anything. BP is known to make a lot of shit - also stuff serious companies should never do, so why should they not make fake announcements just to trigger some hope feelings in DO?

I don't believe anything they say unless they prove it.
I'm very positive they're not working on anything that represents a useful client, especially because they also know DO is just dying, most players using bots like Vertex, so a unity client would not make any sense.

That's exactly why I already allowed some players to test out the XDream client and make clear videos about it, so everyone knows I'm really working on it and making progress.

Because people apparently don't give a crap about it. Every private server I've seen other than my own (which is still in development) does not support HTTPs. It should be the convention, not the exception.
