I agree it does get confusing. People download the file 10 days two weeks later of using it and not working then they say something.

Then when you ask T to download the latest file, they say no.

When issues arise, and they are resolved.
If people took the latest file, it would fix the issue.

That would be more supportive is when people have an issue say what they’ve done and what the cause is.

But people just want to say it don’t work. I do not say what they did.

On a positive example. Someone doesn’t speak a word of English, who is a translator to make a post.
They said I use this software and I extracted it at this location and the add-on doesn’t work.
No worries, I just explained what went wrong and they fixed and resolved it. Since then, it has always worked for them. 😀

The people who tried to fix it them selves, will start to write a question, and when they start writing what they did to fix it, they realize what other thing they didn't try, and then they manage to fix it them selves, and they never click the post button.

That's atleast what usually happens to me

Hey guys,

I just downloaded Zygor for Era and put the extracted file in the /Interface/AddOns folder. Ingame I get the errormessage:
"Zygor Guides Viewer: ERROR initializing, check the Lua errors and report them, please."

I went back to page 1485 in this thread but couldn't find an answer. Anyone with a short version to fix?

Thanks in advance!

Can I ask why you do not say what one you downloaded and what you extracted it with?

Sure, I downloaded Release 1.1.37070 and extracted it with standard windows explorer for windows 11.
When opening the .rar-folder the error message "folder can not be opened", "data is unvalid", "Error 0x80004005: unknown error" occurs.

Using different unzipping tool may help?

If you looked up the error, you would know that the software you used does not extract it.

You are given the error and if you looked it up. You would have a clear result why it does not work.

7zip is free.

I tell people not to use windows extractor because it does not work that well. But people still use it.

With 7zip it worked.

Thanks for the quick help! God bless you!

Thanks for the new release of RXP!

I've just downloaded the ZIP, extracted it, cleared all WTF cache things and started the game...
However, at least for me, it looks like this ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]). Already re-applied the process, but still.

Anyone else facing issues?

Did you select a guide?

There is nothing to select. Usually the menu is populated by default, but not this time. Or did I forget about some kind of import stuff or sth?

That shows 2 issues, not fully extracted.
The saved variables (that you do not have) are corrupt.

Why would you delete the wtf and cache folder for?
You only delete the addon and files, not a whole bunch of folders.

I've just deleted the files related to RXP.lua from the WTF (... => saved variables folder) because that cached files usually corrupted my installation when switching to a new version :D

So yeah, I've deleted the old version of the addon and extracted the new one. Everything as I've done it many, many times before - that's why I'm wondering. I'll repeat the process one more time and reach back out. Thanks so far.

So you delete the RXP files int he saved variables. Now you just wiped the entire settings for the game and addons.

Na, only the RXP related stuff! Sorry, guess this is kind of a misunderstanding.

Restarting the pc completely and then re-running the extraction process etc worked in the end :D

So thanks! Im good now :)

I had no need to ask what you extracted it with, seeing it is a zip file.
But does seem what you used, did not fully extract it.
