So I just downloaded the latest version of RestedXP (4.10.17) I just overwrote the previous version I had installed and when I check the addon ingame I only have the guides until level 40. I am doing anything wrong?

Same issue here. But i only see lvl 20 guide

I tell people not to overwrite the files, it will wipe the guides.
People then overwrite the files, wipe the guides and say they are gone.

The Blizz update screwed up the addon i think even if you have not updated it if you create a new char it doest not work anymore..

addon: restedXP

I already apologize for this dumb question, how does it work? I'm currently clicking on the first page and download the folder in the first post, that is just a restedXP folder that seems very similar to what i can just download to curseforge? what is the point of that folder and where would I find than the actual guides? sorry if I'm understanding something cometpely wrong, really appreciate all the work that everyone puts into this to provide this for free! <3

what you can find on curseforge is the free "trial" version of restedxp (lvl 20 max), so yes it's very similar but you don't need to install the curseforge one for this one to work. If you install this one from the topic, you simply need to extract the restedxp folder to your wow addons folder (folder should be classic/interface/addons) If done correctly, the addon will start when you start playing and you will be asked to configure the addon (dungeons, survival/speedrun etc) It will auto select the basic things like your starting region (from race) auto detect your class and everything. Hope i've answered your questions

Thanks for the quick reply, so i just did that excatly as you said, but when i load up i only got guides until level 40 and also the whole addon doesn't seem to work, as things are not progessing when I complete a step. Is something broken? I had to update a lot of addons today

Blizzard had a maintenance yesterday night and it seems to have broken things a bit yes, mine isn't working properly either (it worked fine before the maintenance) so i think we should wait until the boss gives us a new update of the addon

ahhh okay makes sense, i also just looked into the discord of restedXP, they posted this today:


"Latest patch enforces a very tight execution window for lua scripts on Hardcore servers, which is causing all sorts of errors - and since execution time is non deterministic, you might run into a different error every time. This is a very complex problem to tackle, from my perspective, it was very odd to see such a restrictive change rolled out with no heads up whatsoever. It might take longer than usual to fix it but we're working around the clock to find a solution."

so restedXP works fine, just not on hardcore servers :(
