This is a standard addon and is installed the same way as any other addon.
You have installed addons before, including this one previously.

The installation process has not changed: extract the folder into the AddOns directory.

What is confusing is that users who already know how to install addons—both via addon managers and manual installation—are reporting uncertainty when following the exact same steps they have used successfully in the past, or are instead doing something different from the instructions provided.
Lol
I did install the addon from the link and that was the unhacked addon, the one i did not install was the link i got from another user. It is not obvius in the first post that it is that link that you should use. If that was obvius me, and alot of more people, wouldnt have to ask...

Not obvious

You came for 1 file
It provides 1 link
You need 1 file

How more obvious can I get?

It’s not even hacked either
Developers say how to make custom guides and how to install them
It is done the same way

So if looking curse forge for other guides like this, they’re the same way

So if you want one link for one file to install one thing
But that is not obvious then what is

It is not 1 link, there are 2 links, with one of the very much stating that it is the link to the addon, that is the one i downloaded and installed. The other link is not clear that you need to download, unpack and overwrite the files from the addon you get from the first link.

Custom addon 1 link. Everyone else sees 1 link

Well the other 2 links, that clearly are not the custom addon. Not naked or. So I never said there was a need to download it.

I never said to overwrite it. No idea why you would.

Do you merge other addons together?

Do you install other software over another one? Or did you uninstall/remove it first.

If you delete the old addon and add the new, like anyone else does.
Why overwrote this one?

That is my point.
People see 1 link for the custom addon. You see 2, 1 that does not exist.
You know how to instal an addon.
Yet you choose to do this one different than you already know.
Delete old, add new.
You keep the old, merge the data with the new one. Then when it bugs, you wonder why.

As shown here 1 link

It says RX Custom addon

Link

So that is what it shows.

No one else can see 2 links but you.
I only posted 1 link

Or are you going to point out Titanforged China Servers Link

Question is, if you are not in China and not on a China server why would you download that?
I ask others and they do not want to say either.

RestedXP (RXP) Installation Guide: WoW Classic

Hello everyone. I've noticed many people having trouble with installing RestedXP properly so I've decided to create this guide. Hope it helps.

Keep in mind that this guide is specifically for installing the RestedXP addon and custom guide files for World of Warcraft Classic (Era, Hardcore, or Anniversary). The steps are similar if you're looking to install it to Mists of Pandaria, but the main WoW folder name differs.

Step 1: Install WoW (yes, really)

Before installing addons, the game client must be properly initialized.
a) Open Battle.net: Select World of Warcraft from your Games list.
b) Select Game Version: In the bottom-left dropdown (under Game Version & Account), select World of Warcraft Classic.
c) Install the game.
d) Launch the Game: Choose your preferred version (e.g., Classic Era or Anniversary Realms) and click Play. (Note: You must reach the character select screen at least once to generate the necessary system folders).
e) Exit the Game: Close World of Warcraft completely before proceeding.

Step 2: Locating the AddOns Folder

a) In the Battle.net App, click the Cogwheel (Settings) icon next to the "Play" button.
b) Select Show in Explorer. A window will open showing your WoW installation folder.
c) Navigate through the following folders: _classic_era_ → Interface → AddOns.
d) Keep this window open. This is your destination folder.

Step 3: Installing the Base Addon

You must have the official addon installed first.
a) Download: Get the "RestedXP Guides" addon via the [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] or the CurseForge App.
b) If downloading manually, extract the .zip file to your "AddOns" folder that you've already navigated to in the previous step.
c) Make sure that there is now a folder named "RXPGuides" inside your AddOns folder.

Step 4: Installing Custom/Premium Guides

a) Navigate to the first page of this [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...].
b) Click the button named "Click to Expand Addons", find the "RX Custom addon" section, and click the "Link" button to download the file.
c) Open the downloaded .rar file.
d) Extract/Drag the contents directly into your World of Warcraft/_classic_era_/Interface/AddOns folder.
e) IMPORTANT: When Windows asks if you want to "Replace the files in the destination," click Yes/Replace.

Step 5: Open the game
a) Open and log into the game.
b) At the Character Select screen, click the AddOns button in the bottom-left corner.
c) Ensure RestedXP Guides is checked and set to "Enabled."
d) Once in-game, the RestedXP window should automatically load your guides.

That's it! Hope it worked for you.

In my 25 years of experience, I have never provided a ZIP file.

When Windows prompts you with the message "Replace the files in the destination," select Yes/Replace. It is important to note that this action is necessary.

It appears you would like users to merge the files I have provided. However, this could result in creating duplicate .toc files with identical content. This is precisely why the Mop addon failed to load previously. When users merge or overwrite the .toc file, it can lead to a situation where nothing loads properly.

Users generally understand the need to extract files to the addons folder because they are installing an addon. They also know to avoid overwriting files unless explicitly instructed. Consider the process similar to installing any software: you wouldn't overwrite the existing version; you would uninstall the old one and install the new version.

When asked if they have encountered this issue before, users often hesitate to answer.

Additionally, when instructed to delete the saved variables for that specific addon only, many users are reluctant because they mistakenly believe it will impact all other addons, causing them to lose their settings. As a result, when asked to delete the saved variables for that addon only, they end up deleting the entire folder, which I never advised. This leads to complaints about losing all of their addon settings.

Hello, have any one midnight naowh ui?

The link for Zygor Classic leads to Era.rar and the link to Zygor Era leads to Classic.rar. Is that intended? Thanks for everything and have a happy new year!

Hello, great work my friend!

Is the zygor guide for classic hardcore (vanilla) or just for classictbc?
01/09/2026 08:06 Sormaldo#19380
When I try to download the classic it gives me ClassicTBC instead and it doesn't work.
