I ask you what addon your reply is exactly what do you mean.
So can I ask one thing? Why are you choosing not to say what you are trying to install?

You download and extract to addons, that is it. Just like all other addons.
If you want a video guide. You can look up how to install a wow addon.

My issue is.
People take the file, not read and then say they do not know what to do.
When the first post says what to do.
But the person that wants it. Does not want to read it.

Okay. So I’m not trying to download and addon because there no addon here. I have looked at your instructions for 3 days, and I cannot figure it out. I downloaded the file, and I add it to my addons through wow files system - till I get to addons. I passed your file in there.

I’ve also trying with RestedXP file in there and replaced their files with your files.

What else have I done? - I’ve spent 3 days with ChatGPT trying to figure how to make this work. The closest I got was I change the name plates on the rested XP addon in game to 1-60 instead of 1-29. I couldn’t get it to give me the quest line. Lol

This see to be a common occurrence for you, people join and get stumped. Probably people who are like me and not savvy with Computers.

Just a suggestion mate, maybe it’s worth making a super simple layman post.

I much appreciate your effort on this. God knows how many times you’ve spent on this exact conversation.

Links to the add-on, I posted and you deny it.
Linked to the guides are posted and you deny it.
Linked to other add-ons are posted and you deny it.

So if they’re not there, then how did you download it. When you claim it is not there?

The last person that said it wasn’t there literally quoted the links. They’re actually there. And then they still denied it. They’re actually there when they quoted they actually there.

So first you say they’re not there, Then you say you downloaded my Files that is not there and you installed it after you said that they’re not there.

If you cannot extract a folder to it to the add-ons. Deleting the saved variables. How on earth are you going to follow the guide?

But when I say what addon, because you choose not say say and want me to guess. Your reply is "exactly what do you mean".
So you want an addon. I ask what addon do you want. You reply with "exactly what do you mean"

It is confusing.
Install the addons from curse like restedxp. The attachment at the bottom of the first post is the attachment you need to put in your addons folder like a seperate addon, and that will make the custom guides work with restedxp

Can I ask how that is confusing?

Download addon extract to addons
Download guides extract to addons

The same process for the past 21 years.
The same process that people do and know for all addons.

But when it is "the exact same thing" people say it is confusing?

You know what is confusing?

Wants something > does not say
What do you need > does not say
You need an addon, what one > does not say
Have you had it before > does not say
Did you delete the saved variables > does not say
What did you extract it with > does not say
What did you do > does not say
You say the link is not there, but you claimed you downloaded what is not there. So how does that happen.

Oh but people blame me for it not working because they did it wrong. But I am to blame for their actions.
When they did not do what I said. Instead they did what I said never to do.

I think its confusing because new users do not know this setup uses the stock addon and the seperate attachment acts like a seperate addon to basically inject the guides into the rxp addon.

If I was going to write it for new users I would put this:

For Rested XP, there are 2 parts. The Rested XP addon, and a custom guide addon.

Part 1. Rested XP Addon
Install the rested XP addon like you would any addon
<links to rxp addon>

Part 2. Custom Guides
Download the attachment to this post (link at the bottom of the post) and install it as a seperate addon in your addons folder and this will make the guides show up in the Rested XP addon.

A fair point and I have done that and people still have an issue.

Example, they download classic. They install Classic and then they add addons to classic. When they run classic, it says MOP and they say nothing. They load in to game and it is not anniversary.

So they download install Era and then they add addons to Era. Then they run Era and play anniversary.
Then they have manually added all addons to World of Warcraft\_classic_era_ knowing they are playing World of Warcraft\_classic_era_
Then extract RXP to World of Warcraft\_classic_ knowing they are playing era and then wonders why it does not work. Then claim my file does not work.

Long story short, if people actually read the post before taking. Then it would work.
People wanted me to make a 5 minute video on how to install it. Because they did not want to go to youtube to look up the same thing.

But I even linked a YT video and people did not watch it and then claimed what I posted did not work.

For anniversary you installed Era, add addons to Era, you launch era, so you download era.

MOP is classic, so no anniversary is not MOP classic
