No, you will always need to code things yourself in the long run. lotf sources as a whole are HORRIBLY coded and contain tons of bugs. If you don't want something with bugs then you shouldn't be bothering with private servers (unless you know enough about programming to do your own server from scratch/fix all bugs)

From his question I very much doubt he knows anywhere near enough about programming to even fix something like an "attack bug" for archers... (even though not really a bug)

my problem is that everytime I try to login it keeps closing my Server and it says that I keep getting Dc-ed
Please help me Asap.....
I can login and even pull up conquer.exe but when I do login my CO turns all black and then closes on its own. Then when I look on the server NewestCOserver.exe it keeps saying you've been disconnected. just thought u would want a better understanding of my problem.

OldCODB is in my C:\ drive

Config .ini is configured

The client is located in C:\Program Files\ and Server.dat is configured

My Fixed Source folder is on my desktop, since there's no appropriate location said

When launching NewestCoServer.exe, I get the message saying : "NewestCoServer has encountered an error and might close..."


I'm on Windows XP French version, I did not change anything in the source ,in my client nor in any folders or files excepted the ones in the pictures above

I don't know anything about codes and programming stuff, it's supposed to be a basic server where I could freely test any graphic edits i'd want to.




May someone help me ?

You are using the wrong port in config.ini

you should not have changed that it needs to be 9958 Port 80/8080 is your WEB port not the game port

Are you using Hamachi or are you Port Forwarding?

Hamachi set up guide

Open Hamachi and create a new Network e.g
Name - GenocideCo
Pass - 123

Find your IP address at the top of the Hamachi window and type it into ALL IP slots (Above in Green)

Change you server port (Blue) to 9958 as above

LEAVE the webserver port alone! < That is set fine!

Side Note : People who want to play your server will need the server.dat and also your Hamachi room Name and Password

Port forwarding setup guide

Search elitepvpers.com for Port forwarding and follow the instructions there!

Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and type that IP address into the IP fields (Above in Green)

Change you server port (Blue) to 9958 as above

LEAVE the webserver port alone! < That is set fine!



One last thing, make sure that in the source there is no IP field... If there is change your IP to either Hamachi or your "Global IP" (ipchicken) Depending on what you use.

Game Server Port = 9958
Auth Port = 5816 (I think)

After that compile your source and then run it and you shouldn't have any problems with login freeze

Okay guys, I'm a total noob @ this so I'm gonna ask some questions..
First question is; on another forum I asked if it's possible to use 5017 scripts on a 5165 since they're both c#; the guy said they would but I'd have to convert them.. I tried searching about how to do it but I didn't get anything.. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Umm best way is to look at a 5017 source and see how they are scripted and then look at 5165 to see how they are done and them work the 5017 ones the same as 5165 one :)

although if you are very new to this then I would suggest you read some C# tuts before even thinking about making a server or converting stuff

Simple, you user or pass is wrong.

Okay so iam able to login now, BUT when i create a character and it tells me "characters has been created please re-login" i re-login and it wants me to create a character again

/accounts in the console and fin your account see if it has a character put to it

/characters see if you char IS made already

If it is made type /account and put your char name in the Character Name box
