Trading can be fun and games but it can be unfair .We don't want 100 buffalo trading afk everyday tracing one player at the front and tracing again after ferry until it arrives in town,causing huge amounts of lags ,making a discomfort for those who are not trading ,that's just an abuse .These players will get too rich too fast switch to thieves and ruin trading for those who were not able to participate in the game from the start because they are way behind in gold an gear.
The limit should stay ,hell you can even make the trade limit lower if you like but ... when a player is
limited to gain lots of gold and coins from trading all day long
I'm suggesting to add rewards instead , equivalent to the gold invested and traveled distance .An example perhaps
Normal trades
(Goods purchased +stars* + trade destination =More Gold and a special coin for (end game gear)
After you reached the trading limit
A player who completed a trade will earn the money invested plus a small extra amount of gold and he's able to choose a reward at the end :
(elixirs ,stones ,other consumables,trinkets)
or... choose currency for greater rewards
(pets,avatars,custom titles,mid game gear ,etc.)

Of course
only the items available on the server will be able to be gain as rewards .
Do as you like with the amount gain and the amount spent and which items goes where .
Make it that even after you are limited it's still worth to do trades.
