Its okay lucid. We all know what kind of forum person you are. Give it some thought.

Apparently one who can post images and understands why divide by zero is a problem.

It's ok Wilds, I have everything I need now except the actual fishing status offset. It was the first thing I found, and now those offsets are not valid anymore, and the values that I noted don't appear consistently anymore either. D:

That's why I was wondering if Lucid's bot was still working. It's possible that the offsets I found initially were not static pointers. I reasoned that that was ok because I knew the values and could find the offsets again easily. It's not working for me though.

The best thing I could tell you to do would be to go to youtube and search for cheat engine, signature scanning, finding pointers, etc. The thing is, if you don't understand how software works in memory, you're probably shit out of luck, so you may want to start there. I have no references for that since I've been writing code for so long, I just know how it works.

So read the full post next time instead of the first 6 words, dickhead
We read the full post. Earlier in the thread it was clearly stated that it's broken since the 2.51 patch. That's why no one posted a useful response. Your question has already been answered, all you needed to do was read the thread instead of downloading it, seeing that it's broken, and immediately posting that it doesn't work.

Everyone else here understands that broken means broken. I don't understand why you thought yours was a special case.

Yeah mine still works, I don't think offsets have changed since 2.51 dropped.

Well answer me this Lucid. Do you use the same offset for fishing status that you use for tug type? I've got tug type, and it works great, and it would be feasible to also use that same offset for fishing status. The problem is, the values seem to change depending on whether you're sitting or standing, and possible even where you're fishing.

I don't want to use a value where 17 or 70-something means you're fishing, and 15 or 80-something means you're in fishing stance, etc.

If I have to, I have to, but please, tell me if there is a better value to use.

I use lots of different values so how I do it may not be best. I can think of at least three different ways you could go about determining fishing information; it's really just a matter of preference.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too when I first started this. I'll just keep poking it with sticks until I find something that works.

You parsing keybinds to go along with it? Hotbars are nice but not very useful unless you have both hotbars and keybind info.

btw you should make your own thread!

Yeah, I'm parsing keybinds as well. :D Originally I just wanted to know if the button was enabled, but quickly realized I could parse the keybind too, and that just made it that much nicer.

Edit: I'll make my own thread when I release the bot. :)

Lucid, I'm not a Windows developer. I'm a Unix guy. I have a problem, and google isn't helping. I was testing out my hotbar parsing code, and I noticed that if ffxiv is not the foreground app, any modifier keys that I pass seem to get lost.

For instance, I had cast on Alt+3. As long as ffxiv has focus, it works fine, but the minute I focus another app, or minimize ffxiv, it only presses 3. I've written my button pressing code about 10 different ways trying to fix it. I've used various combinations of SendInput, SendMessage, and PostMessage. Now, I'm using some code that I got off github to handle keypresses, and it still doesn't work.

Have you seen this before? Do you have any insight?

Thanks

Good news, everyone! </Farnsworth>

The remake is feature complete. It's pre-alpha at this point, and I'm sure it still has some sneaky edge case bugs, but all the hard work is done.

I'm going to test it for a few days, then I'll post it in a new thread. I'll link the new thread here when I do.

EDIT: Currently it only works on the english client due to the hotbar parsing code. I'll need translations for any other language. Or, it's open source, you can always translate it yourself :)

So glad some one is continuing this on. Thank you kindly Cooldown.

Released. It's probably buggy as hell, but I don't exactly have a great test bed, so you guys will have to serve that purpose for me.
