Official 5165 FAQ/Question thread

Ok I know this problem was posted somewhere (perhaps?) but just sifted through 176 pages and have seen only one person in this thread with the same problem.

No I`m not new to this source, just using another account because I got tired of people asking on the TQ server if it was me or not.

Anyway problem I have is this (recentish problem me thinks) I can create an account through my registerpage and through the console and yes it appears everything is where it should be ie .chr etc. BUT I log my new account in then go to create a char I get all up to the end where it says give the char a name then click ok then "ERROR! Try again"

Yes I can log into the game with my chars already created but I can`t seem to create new chars anymore >.<

Hmm that's a problem I have never seen before... have you changed anything in your source related to account creation?

Strangely no >.< BUT this problem was mentioned a post quite a while ago but I can`t for the life of me think what the post was called? Perhaps it was the original download thread for the 5165? Saying that though one other person in this thread had the same problem.

I deleted all .chr and all .usr and tried to create an account again but still the same problem >.<

A few people had the same problem and they replaced their item.txt with the original and got it to work but I tried that and nope still same problem >.<

i can get newest co server to work i even made my acc. i just cant get it hooked to my server when i click play.exe in my 5165 client it goes to tqs web site and when i click standard deff, it starts to update client.... i tryed to click conquer exe but it gives an error and says click play.exe, what do i do to fix this? any help would be greatly apperciated and if helped good/ to where i get it to work, ill thank you.

You can use loaders for it but you should be able to open Conquer.exe without it having a problem? Don`t use play.exe because it will try to update your client. You can use TQs autopatch to your own advantage and there are play.exes on the site to use if you really want to lol. I am using TQs autopatch system and a seperate play.exe but I forget who put it up >.<

i fiddled around with it lastnight got it to work fine, but now my client crashes after i try to login. any ideas?

Client crashing could be several things. Did you modify the Conquer.exe?

I still have the same question as to why I can create accounts but not characters?

This is the wrong section to ask stuff like that and I would be surprised if anyone gives / makes you a hack for a specific server...

Ummm , how do i make the npc-s talk summat? cant figure that out , also if i make it a store how do i make it sell stuff that i want it to sell? xD

When I search for an NPC to edit, remove. I cant find certain ones... is there data contained in different files.

So you want to edit an NPC or remove it completely?

Edit NPC > NPCTalk / NPC / NPCDialog.cs

Remove NPC > NPC.txt (Flatfile)
Remove NPC > NPCs or something similar (MySql)
