FFXI Private Server FFAWESOME

Finally i would like to get back to using tunngle never like himachi

how do I get hooked up on Tunngle then?

Hey guys. Sorry for being a noob, but must I purchase the original FFXI game in order to play this private server?

Not able to see you in tunngle Darkdante.... found the final fantasy folder but you're not there.

Edit 1 - able to connect through old instructions, just freezes during character creation. Not sure if that's a side-affect of the server transferring to tunngle or not. Glad to see it's getting smooth-like... hope to be up and playing soon. I'll see you guys in game, when I can get there!

edit 2 - Went into FFXI config and used simplified char creation visuals, fixed the freeze, NOW i get an FFXI-3322 error, which I've tracked down to char name is taken. I've even started using completely random BS and it still doesn't work. Hope theres a fix for this!

There is I had the same problem with my private server the first time I launched it.

Copy your \SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\data folder into your
\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI
once the data folder has been copied to the main game folder it will work.
At least that fixed my issue with the same error.

I got it working last night doing that very same thing! I guess I'm the only one playing though. lol.. makes for a weak experience. need to run to jeuno... lol I'll find something to do there.

yes or try downloading it and play the 30 days trials just to get the full update. ive try this and all mobs have no intelligence, they just attack without casting spells or using ability. there was no one on the server when i do search all . just me 1 player. anyway , keep posting...

Connecting to the Server: Tunngle
Go to the Tunngle Website - download/install the client and Create an account.
Once you log in come find me in the RPG - Final Fantasy Network.
Right click my name and copy the Tunngle IP address.
You will need the IP address for the next step.

For some reason, I'm starting to thing that without editing the IP address and knowing that dante is in fact online and checking his IP... are we making our own Pservers then connecting to them? 127.0.0.1 is a local host... and I believe it redirects back to the host machine. Thus, when I run with IP 127.0.0.1 I have access to all GM commands, when I run with Dante's IP address, I'm on DLX server 6.5 (not Fuck Square) AND GM commands are not all enabled.

Glad to see people are still trying to bring private servers for the ffxi game.
I've look on the Web for any private server and they were closed or fake.

From what I've read on this thread looks like this trick actually works. I thought about hamachi but I've always prefered game ranger. Now i'm not sure what this tunngle thing is but I suppose it's something close to hamachi right ?

Before installing anything, is there really only one player ?
It would be lame to go through all this if I end up playing alone.

Could I actually make my own virtual server with game ranger or whatever and play with my friends or dante's server had some mods to make it work ?

Edit: BTW I only have the original with rise of zilarth expansion that was included anyways in the retail version. So I suppose i'm missing some retail expansions and couldn't play ? :'(

Could you give me instructions about installing and setting up everything? I'm not sure if tips given earlier in this thread are still valid.

notice that there is not any videos on youtube about a private server with more than 1 player on screen.
