You think that it is still a main way of income for them? look at servers they are almost empty, even after only half of them left after fusion. I think they abandoned real sro development already many months ago. Knight of silkroad seems legit for me and personally i wouldnt spend more time on sro on thier place, instead i would focus development on mobile version which looks impressive.

I think they will close all official servers to be honest. It will end up just like RyL. The official ones closes and left is the private servers.

yeah, but thye haven't announced the closure at all, just for rSRO. As I told, Wemade is the one in charge of Knights of Silkroad(damn, we should have had a server with that name to blame them for originality) which lead me to think that Wemade may dev new projects while Joymax is in charge of old SRO(and Digimon hosting)

Joymax still making some bucks on old SRO but i dont think they develop anything except some avatars and artworks. I think everything is in weemade hands and they make little updates (such new arenas) for joymax to take rest of money from sro but we cant call this real development. From what i read here it seems like Knight of silkroad may be a Sikroad 2 which everyone is waiting for.

No, Knights of Silkroad isn't Silkroad Online 2.

Source?

No source. I wanted to say that I THINK it isn't SRO2 (big difference, I know). Why I think so?
1) Joymax bought a licence for PathEngine for Silkroad 2 (that's the name of the project, not Knights of Silkroad).
2) This is also a speculation, but I really think it will be a PC game.

So no, I have no evidence for this, but I really doubt Knights of Silkroad is Silkroad 2.

They are obviously working on a next-gen MMO, a company with the skill and the budget of joymax will not just switch to mobile gaming, while you might think joymax is run by retards, you can not really say that SRO is really poorly made (netcode, graphics, etc)
04/13/2013 02:45 PortalDark#161
Indeed. SRO was a huge hit on graphics and gameplay for their time
I cant say SRO was a crappy coded broken game

You guys should make a contest to see who will get next SRO files first

Their actual internal networking code (i.e. servers connecting to each other) might be good, but they obviously have no idea what they're doing on the TCP level.

For example, there is no reason for having a MassiveMsg packet type. It increases server processing time, transmission time and client processing time for no reason at all. If they had a good server and client TCP implementation, they could just use normal packets for data like this.
