Id be willing to say that the furthest a server would go back to is silk's a6 release.
I havnt fully uncovered the history of every server but:
? -> Astral -> Evo (ike) -> Uprising
? -> Astral -> Evo (zirak) -> Trac3r
? -> Astral -> Evo (old) -> D.O.D
? -> Astral -> Evo (old) -> Nemesis
? -> Astral -> Evo (old) -> Zan?
? -> Astral -> Evo (old) -> Core?
? -> Astral -> Evo (old) -> Core? -> Illusion
? -> Astral -> Evo (old) -> D.O.D -> others
? -> EG
? -> Elite
Basically what im getting at is that most of the servers that are still around came from evo when evo wasnt hiding their share folder. Its ok to be a fanboy of how much the evo team (& by that factor most of uprising team) has touched the dekaron private server scene.
Ofc have to give credit to:
Hellspider -> Selling aloken to the first few servers
Seph -> publicly releasing aloken
Seph -> publicly releasing unencrypted cs/dw/hb/segu
Seph -> helping with uprisings exes
Skad -> publicly releasing encrypted cs/segu
Toasty -> releasing win7 launcher
silkbotter -> releasing a3 server with a6 client
harmony -> releasing leaked a9 official JP server
harmony -> dealing with AI codes + helping cs/segu release on evo
Zirak -> showing everyone that you can turn your server into something new with custom stuff
Ike -> managing 1 (almost 2) of the strongest servers in terms of setup + longevity
Me -> helping with files on evo
Me -> about 50% of the work put into uprising (some of which has been passed onto members of this board)
If I missed anyone that contributed to the progression of private servers sorry.
