Official 5165 FAQ/Question thread

Guys can some1 help me. When I want to connect on server it`s stun at Loading. I`m using Windows 7.

maybe its coz ur system is 64 bits but the source was made for 32 bits so simply search for the guide i dont remember how it was called like "set ur project to 32 bit only" and by it set ur project not to 32 but 64 as ur system if its 64 bits if not then open the server in visual c# then run in debug mode (F5) and see what will happen maybe it will throw u an error so u would know what is the problem

ok this is my first time doing this because i usually just make c3 edits and i want to start a private server for me and my friends so this is confusing for me
so far i downloaded everything
first i moved the oldcodb folder into my computer local disk thing
then i changed it to my ip adress and i put in my MySQL password
then i opened up the newestcoserver thing and typed in
/newacc testing 123456 and i pressed enter but the line went down? is that all it does?
after i tried using the acc so i opened up the file conquer application
when i typed in my password and acc it didnt even show the loading bar and then the screen turned white saying conquer has stopped working
so i tried using hamachi ip adress and i set up my own network
it did the same thing
If anyone could help me id gladly appreciate it i just want to set up a private server for me and 4 friends that we can use to fight and mess around plz i am a noob at this and if u could really detail and dumb it down for me PLZ and ty i tried using the search and it didnt show anything if there already was a guide to this im sorry

Also is the IP in your Client your Hamachi IP or w/e IP you are using?
This has to be the same in C:\OldCODB\Config.ini

And in answer to your question. "Is that all it does" Yes that is the only thing it does. If you type in the console /accounts click "Search for accounts" this will bring up a list of accounts that have been made.

Oh very important are you using the right patch in your client? If you are not this could be a reason it wont work.

OK well i dont have msn and i tried /accounts and it showed me all the accounts i tried to make but it also says IP[not added yet] what do i do

wrong version of client or u r missing some files/programs like net framework 3.5

How can i make a timer for Maintance Like to happen at the same time everyday?

i have some questions

1- how to make a skill disable in a map
2- how to make some one if he disconnected when he relogin the map change like a reborn map
3-how to add new map
4-how to delete the GM effect ???
5-where to add action for an it
6-what is the action for addeffect to char , normal effect nt status one

bigpapi do u mean the guide how to set up ur project to 32 bits only??? This is ini's based server it dont use mysql...

Hi all !
When I open the souce :
The database folder doesn't exist, cannot start the server...
Why ? Pliz Help =( !

This will be my first post ever on here to be honest. When it came to getting the client working and letting me on I had no trouble at all. The worst part of it is probably the coding and the fixing of the server which me and a friend have been working on for quite awhile now. Unfortunatly the production stopped when I ended up in the hospital.

I've actually read through all 163 pages of this guide but my short term memory is terrible atm and I don't remember seeing these things lol.

However I'm home now and we've actually taken back up working on this and trying to get it functional. We fixed the NPC Dialogue text which took forever but it stopped giving us errors, lol. Now we're having trouble with the exp rate. We would like it to be normal instead of ungodly fast. I know where it is but I don't know exactly how to change it to make it normal rates. I was trying to work on that before the hospital but it's like what I knew went out the window with that.. If help could be given here it would be much appreciated if not that's ok too. I can continue to try to tweak it and probably fail but the learning experience is never a bad thing.

My other question is my main concern as I actually edit client side such as .dds files and the like. I was wondering if it was possible to add new textures and meshes to this particular client for things such as weapons and armors. I mean and them actually show up and not be invisible lol. If not then I gotta look for a different client where that would be possible but then I'm not exactly sure which client would be best for this.
