Damn, this is really hard.... I can't decide..

I don't know if I will like my job as a doctor or in the IT field, how should I even know without trying? There's no way to try before you choose smth.

of course there is a way dawg. whats about internships? here in germany we can do internships, for example you can go to any IT Company and ask for an internship for a limited time. Then you become acquainted with the IT company and the job itself.

Also you can read a lot about the most jobs, about apprenticeships, about studying. You can read what other people do in that job everyday, just to get a clue of what's exactly going on there.

Looks like I need some field study, maybe I should go and ask some doctors/engineers.

As far as I am concerned you don't quite get him.
Ofcourse you can read or listen to whatever people say, but he want's to have his own opinion about that. You could like the Job, maybe he doesn't and without trying he can't know that. :o

True, it's like I wanna be a doctor for some time, then be in the IT field for sometime so I can choose after having the required knowledge from both of them.

I get him for sure, i think you don't really get what i'm trying to say.

As a grown man you should be able to build a opinion if you see straight facts of the daily work. I mean you don't even have to try it if you don't like what you are reading there. It'd give you a first and basic opinion where you can get deeper by really trying it out.

You can't just ignore all theoretical parts and go straight trhough to the practise.

The thing is he(and I) do like both.
Afterall I still might not 100% get you but I believe that you REALLY have to gave practice in it to decide whether you want to go for the Job! :(

Not really, i don't know if he also wrote it here but in our podcaster chat he said to me that he isn't that interested in medicine, he'd just do it because the choice is there and mainly because of the money.

And yes, you'll need practice but it can help you a lot to inform you before apllying for some intership or something like that. I mean if you can say out of a text that you don't like a job, you don't need to get that much practice there.

Well, okay.
I didn't know that I was kind of speaking for myself here.
I know I do like IT(since I do it privately) and medicine since I had a traineeship as ambulance. So it's a hard decision!:(

Well that's a lot harder then. For me it was simple, cuz IT was my main interest, there was nothing that could reach that for me.

In your case you should really do some traineeships etc.

I am not interested in medicine from the 'studying part'. However, if the job is worth it, I don't have any problem with studying biology for some more years but, at last it has to be a good job. Studying != Doing the actual job so it's a different story.

But the point would be that you have to put an insane amount of energy into the studying, it's questionable if you can handle that over a long period of time if you're not really interested in it. I mean especially medicine is more like a full-time job, you'll have to learn way more compared to some other study paths.

I can handle anything IF it's a good choice that would suit me.
