It’s common to see people post about this error without really looking into it. Often, they download a .rar file and then try to open it with .zip software. They mention using 7zip, which is great, but they don’t always mention if it’s the latest version. A lot of times, people don’t update their software and try to open newer files with outdated versions.

But when that user installed the latest version of the extraction software, everything worked perfectly!

Hi all,

Can anyone explain how we get the Horde-20-60.lua and the Alliance-20-60.lua added to Rested Guides in game? I am extracting and adding the files to the Addon/RXP/Guides folder, but it is not listed in my in-game guides.

Ok let me explain this.

It is an addon
You install it like an addon that's it.

So why are people taking the files out of the folder (When I said not to do it).
Add it to the guides folder (When I said not to do it).
Then make post after post that it does not work. When they did what I told them not to do.

Seriously, how is it that impossible to, download, extract and put in the addons folder that's it.

Instead people do not want to do that. Then do something that has been said to not work. Surprised it does not work and then make a post that it does not work.

If you and others did what I said in the first place and not what you think is right, then it would work.

Hey, idk how to appropriately ask, but the liquid timelines addon is outdated, and needs to be updated for season 2. Does anyone have a up-to-date version to share?
It's the one under "Addons" and listed as "Liquid"

I did not say extract it to guides, so why are you doing that?

The problem that I and many others have ran into is downloading the "Classic" version of RestedXP. That is not for Vanilla Classic, Hardcore OR Anniversary realms. What you need to download is ERA. I would suggest adding a little description for those of us who aren't familiar with WoW's naming scheme. Cheers for the upload!

Thank you! I was trying to get it to work for Anniversary servers, but needed to use "Era" instead of "Classic", which is un-intuitive.

How is it a problem?

People installed World of Warcraft\_classic_era_
They add addons to World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns
They run the era World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\WowClassic.exe"

So after knowing the game is era, they download classic?

That is like installed classic
Addon addons for classic
Ran classic
But choose to download the addon for retail.

Makes you wonder why, people know exactly the game they we playing. Then text Lee down at the wrong file like a complain that it doesnt work

You installed era. You add Addons to era. You ran the era client. So why would you think it is classic?
You did not install classic.
You didn’t add to classic.
The client you ran is not classic.

You say unintuitive? But when people are still told it is era. They still installed at the classic and spend hours repeating exactly the same thing after being told that it is era.

Now if I say it is classic, people would install classic and complain that it does not work.
If I say it is era, people would install classic and complain that it does not work.
If I say it is an addon and install it to an addon. People strip out my files and put them in guides.

Seems it is unintuitive to say, download and extract and put the folder in addons. Seeing people do not do that and do random things instead.
So following the right install is unintuitive?

I got a question. Since i updated the latest Zygor i got an Bug that i can´t really use Zygor. I testet other versions and i deleted all the Files in my WTF folder i can´t fix it.

Maybe you have an solution on that.

what did you extract it with? As most of the issues are, extracted with the wrong software.

I see what you mean.
You could have loaded the game, deleted the files and re added the addon and /rellad.

As it keeps on restoring the old files.

This is why I suggest
Load the game
Delete the savedvariables
Install the addon
/Reload
That way, it should make new savedvariables because it keeps on restoring the old ones.
