ZONE: Latheihe plateau (F-7)
NPC: Wayward Worm (F-7) Near the Odelles caves
EVENT: Cutscreen Sand'ora Mission rank 2-1 Recuse Drill
DESCRIPTION: When you talk to this person small cs will come up with another npc saiding hey. After that the server crash this on sand'ora Mission rank 2-1 this npc that cause the crash is near Odelles Caves at Latheihe Plateau pos (F-7)

that was fun lol server crash
01/21/2011 06:48 Avalon Kookaburra#142
General:

[Random] Signet wears upon KO or zoning.

Total "Play time" is reset every time you zone.

Mission completion rewards no rank points (Bastok).

/sit Command doesn't get interrupted when being attacked.

Engaging any mobs when over 7-10 (This is random it seems) yalms disengages you after ~3 seconds. One another note, You can engage mobs that are more than 30 yalms away for that 3-4 seconds.

Being more than 2.9 yalms from a mob will give the message "X is out of range" and unable to attack it. I think the max range is 5 ~ 5.5 yalms in retail?

/heal works much more rapidly than normal. Also, there is no +1 to each tick after the first tick, just a constant +12 (Whm level 6 tested) to each tick.

WHM can Parry attacks.

Club weapon skills never miss.

[Random Glitch] This seems to mostly happen in "Rooms" (Being in a house, market, cids lab) if I crash or the server crashes, I'm basically locked in the room because the targetable npcs and objects don't appear. To exit you must use @zone.

ZONE: Port Bastok
NPC: Flying Axe, I.M.
EVENT: Chating
DESCRIPTION: Thought he npc appears to do nothing (And no text appears), it will eventually freeze the player in place, and eventually crashes game. Tried this a few times while trying to talk to Argus after talking to Flying Axe, but always seemed to crash. Seemed the same thing happened after walking away from Flying Axe after talking to him. (Just finished Mission 1-1 prior to this)

Enemies:

Monsters has instant attack speed when being first aggroed (No delay or bind effect as in retail).

Mobs aggro the instant they respawn.

Mobs don't drop beastman seals.

Able to have claim (Red tagged) on more than 1 mob at one time.

I had 3 mobs tagged (1bat 1 worm 1bird) when being KO'd I still had claim on the worm while dead. I home-pointed, came back out and worm's HP was at same HP as when I left, though unclaimed.

Huge Hornet Ability "Final Sting" comes up as:
"The Huge Hornet readies Final Sting.
Player defeats the Huge Hornet."

Tunnel worms in S. Gustaberg drop Zeruhn soot.
Ding bats in S. Gustaberg drop Orcish Mail Scales (Should be King Ranperre's Tomb).
You can also obtain more than 1 of these (Has R/EX tag)
Stone Eaters in S. Gusta drop "Hermit's ring"

Leaping Lizzy checks as "Tough" and appears to be normal sized.

"Cure" spells do no damage to skeletons (Heals them still as noted below).

Magic:

"Cure" spells can also cure monsters.

Sometimes magic doesn't show up in the Battle Menu but is usable though the normal menu (See more below).

[Glitch seems random] I'm finding that magic I've learned is listed under: Menu>Magic>White Magic but is grayed out and you get a message saying "Incorrect job, job level too low, or required ability not activated" and is not listed at all in the "Battle Menu" magic list. Sometimes though, the spell DOES work and is listed normally in the main menu. It also works if you type out the command or use macros ( /ma "cure" <t> ).

An update to the above glitch: I just hit level 11 used a scroll of Cure II. After using, the spell list became available again in the menus (Didn't zone).

Dia lasts 30 seconds instead of 60 seconds. DOT dmg seems a bit higher than 1hp/tic?

When recasting Dia onto a mob with Dia already on it, it says the effect has "worn off" and seems to allow infinite overwriting of it. Does not stack though.

Bastok Markets:

Homepoint Crystal listed as "Door: House"
Also, when clicking it, the correct text appears. Thought when selecting "Set as current home point?" it displays: "Trial: Defeat a set number of experience-yielding monsters under the prescribed conditions.", instead of "Home point set!) It DOES however set your homepoint to the correct location when returning from being KO'd.

Missions / Quests

Bastok Mission 1-1
ZONE: Zeruhn Mines
NPC: Makarim
EVENT: Key item "Zeruhn Report"
DESCRIPTION: After checking my key-item listings, you DO get the key-item, but also get a message in the chat log saying:
"Existing size data for your pile of chocobo bedding will be lost."

Bastok Mission 1-2
ZONE: Metalworks; Cids Lab
NPC: Argus (He zones you here instantly after accepting mission 1-2 and chatting to him again).
EVENT: Zoning
DESCRIPTION: After zoning in, room took a while to load. The furniture came up, but no npcs in Cid's lab. The door also was un-tragetable, leaving you locked in the room. After using the command @zone ED, I'm still not able to enter Cid's lab because the door in un-targetable. Tried regular zoning out and in with same effect. Unable to go any farther with Bastok Missions at this time.

Ok i take it the server is offline because i try connect to hamachi only 3 and 4 work but no server
01/21/2011 19:42 twille#146
How much time and effort are we looking at to get the moghouses fixed? Or is it such a vast undertaking that we're pushing it off?
01/21/2011 21:17 xworndownx#147
If you haven't noticed Hamachi is down.. The networks are screwed up and well it's a mess. I have a real Hatred for using Hamachi for a game server as it just wasn't reallly designed to be one. It's good for some file sharing and that is about it. The network code wasn't created for the heavy heavy traffic of a mmorpg game server. That and only having 16ppl per network was really annoying.

Today I spent all my time re-working the PC. I upgraded to win7x64 and found a decent alternative for our VPN. We will be testing out a new program called Tunngle for the game server. You can get the client here -> [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] <-

You will need to download the program, install it and create an account on the website.

The moment you sign in you will need to find little old me. :) I'm currently hiding in the (RPG - Final Fantasy) network. (edited: They created this channel fast!)

When you get in the channel simply right click my name, click on 'Copy IP to clipboard' and paste the IP into your MXI config file. Load up and play on!

Oh! And the server is back up and running. 100k for the first person that signs in!! (not!)

Tunngle is a much larger network and solely designed for gaming. It reminds me a bit like the OLD GameSpy that actually ran really well. But there is a chat channel and a user limit of 255 per network instead of 16.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding mog houses: They really are a vast undertaking. SE loves to twist things up every patch so we have to go back in and figure out what they did to correct for it. Something none of us are very good at at this time. Yes, we are pushing it off.

Supply Run Mission
ZONE: North Gustaberg OP
NPC: Shigezane, I.M. (Hume; Labeled "Astral Box")
EVENT: Chatting
DESCRIPTION: Freezes player when talking to npc to finish quest for OP warping.

Zone: Various

NPC: <Yuhtunga_Mandragora>, <Flesh_Eater>, <Goblin_Smithy>, more than likely others

Event: Battle/General

Various (possibly all or most) monsters that are lv.30 and above have more hp than their retail counterparts. My previous thoughts on the Flesh Eaters were confirmed a page or so ago.

I decided to test Yuhtunga Mandys since there is info on their HP. A lower level mandy on the test server had 1557 HP in my log. According to wiki, the HP range for Yuhtunga Mandragoras is 920~1,110 HP.

Same results for Goblin Smithys in Yuhtunga. I parsed a fight against a lower level Smithy, and it had approximately 1600 HP. Again, wiki cites the HP range for Yuhtunga Smithys as 1060~1,330.

Fighting anything above 30 gives me the same impression that it's tougher than it should be :(

Zone: Beadeaux

NPC: <Silver_Quadav>?

Event: Battle?

I was trying to reach some NMs in Beadeaux when a quadav aggroed me. I'm not entirely sure what happened, but my character seemed to get a crazy flee effect. It lasted after using @zone, but wore off in a minute or so.

Mob HP was calculated with an equation based on its level in the server by the original pXi team. It is not correct, and unfortunately it will have to do for now unless someone can write a tool to capture Npc positions and other relevant information like HP/MP. However, partying with other people would be a viable alternative as that isn't broken and the game is meant to be played with other people to begin with.

I have not looked into the status effect issue yet, but it may be one of several database-related issues and is not a high priority at the moment as the database will be completely overhauled in the coming weeks, which will likely fix ~80% of the issues being reported. Most likely the server thought you came close enough to the structures that are supposed to inflict you with either Silence or Curse (I think was it), but instead applied Flee. A significant number of status effects are inaccurate now because of shifts in their Ids since the time that table in the database was made. Very interesting issue though. I will look into it when I have time.
