Server Monthly/yearly cost.

Hello community!
I had an argue with some friends about the Money Costs for servers like P4Story and 4Ancient. Some people said that they pay for Cloud server's which are pretty cheap(50€/month), some others that they have to pay over 300€ monthly.


P.S. its a just a topic to disscuss this if any1 know anything feel free to write above, i dont have any personal.. am just studying Computer Engineering and i had a talk with some fellow students!

If u want to keep ur Server online with full of protection like P4Story u really must pay over 300Eur/Month i guess.

Hosting a 4Story Server with ~150 online players can be done with a cheap server of about 50€ per month.

I do not give exact numbers of prices. I can only say that none of the given prices are realistic for serious projects. There are also many other costs in addition to the server costs. Depending on the files and player numbers and age of the server the costs do vary. Most of the money goes on protection and hard drives. Backups/Logging need a lot of storage. The databases are growing day by day and the effort for the services to read them as well. For 4Ancient we are already working with NVME memory.

And not to forget costs like:
- Advertising
- Forum (license & Hosting & Protection & patches)
- Website (Coding & Hosting & Protection & patches)
- Licenses for Software (Serious servers do that)
- Development of the game (new patches etc)
- Unpredictable costs

And probably the most expensive of all:
- Time

-Advertising can range from 10€ to infinity. In 4Story its most likely around 50€-100€ each patch (in case of 4Ancient)
-Forum license is 100€, patches are free unless you mean new addons, in which case its about 1-20€ a piece, hosting is around 20€ (if you pay more you're dumb), protection is included
-Website is 0€ considering it's copy & paste from Syntax cms
-License for serious software is up to 1-3k a month
-Also about 0€ since you barely make any
-And since you barely make any patches, time isn't really something you should be worrying about.

It's always funny how you're so self-inferring. You disrespect other people's work and your frustration grows from day to day as you see that you do not have success with your personality nor your concepts. Not to mention that you haven't written a single line of code in your life and shouldn't even have any word to say here.

I can't understand how you always try to sell lies or half-truths as facts. If you're not sure about something or just speculate then don't sell it as facts and keep it for yourself.

Don't forget whose work you started Araz with. It was 4Ancient and Odin who gave birth to Araz. And if Jirkus hadn't jumped up, you wouldn't have existed for a year. Behind his back, you show no respect for him but he is the one who writes your patches for a penny. And at the same time, you allow yourself to overlook everyone who really does smth in this scene.

Also 4Ancient has already paid your server costs several times. You still owe us money.

- size of average patches: Araz < Ancient < P4Story
- you would be nothing without Jirkus, because he does the whole work
- you're an arrogant child who copies the concepts of other servers, some features weren't even made by Araz itself

Is the thing with the server costs true @ ?, this would be hilarious.

Btw, time is really expensive, but I guess you don't know that since you care only about money. I doubt anyway that the playerbase of your "new meta" server is that big to need so much time.

However, only AC's post is a little bit close to the true costs behind a serious project. And it's sad that the protection is always the highest thing to lose money in this toxic community.

try to check Polish hosting, which is very good and very cheap for you, because 1 euro = 4.5 PLN so for 100-200 euro you have everything worth 400-700 PLN and that's a lot.

So buying files and sharing the price 50/50 is apparently all your work now? If you really think your security system (which was completely and utter garbage btw) is what made Araz, then I feel sorry for you.

Not to mention that without Jirkus, the Araz Developer, neither 4Ancient, nor 4Story UR Old School would've existed.

Also don't forget that 4Ancient wouldn't be without me, since you weren't able to fix those exploits back in 2017 so you even had to shut the Server down.

Whose Server concept have we stolen? Do you want to make a list of features that we did first that you stole? And we're not the only Server that buys things so again I dont see the problem.

So back to the topic:
Hosting is the smallest problem because 4story don't use so much resources.
You can pay monthly for a good dedicated server 100 - 150€ and everything should running smooth.
You can also make a few smaller vps from the main machine for a website and launcher or a test server so 3 or 4 in 1 for 100 or 150€.
Next thing is that you need a team and noone is working for free so you need to pay for a website, patches etc.
Advertisment is one of the most important thing and it is not so cheap if you wanna do a BOOOM effect.
Ok but don't forget about SQL license because the free one isnt a solution for a long time and with a high amount of players online.

Remove BattleRoyal from your server and I guarantee your server is dead after a few weeks. There is no doubt in that, everyone here knows that.

With 4Story I obviously meant how private servers are hosted. The rest of your text I dont understand, are you talking about the "we have paid your server several times"?
