Look forward at the crevice of the left corner. Jump then click forward. If you're lucky you'll get the step. If not you'll click forward too long and fall down. It's actually hard to fall short.
The vantage point sucks, and if they get too far into the room or to the back wall of that little flag area, the 'target will be out of line of sight.' The rest of the adjacent room they can just run around in.
You can capture the horde flag, run to your base, and go up there. Once your flag is captured, jump down and voila!
