CS:GO Weapon finish contest winners announced!

On the 2nd of May the Polycount alongside with CS:GO team had announced the CS:GO Weapon Finish contest for everyone to participate. The contestants were informed to upload their weapon finishes to the CS:GO Steam Workshop for the evaluation by the deadline which was 29th of May which gave every contestant exactly four weeks to apply to the contest and participate.

On Tuesday, 7th of June, about the winners whom were selected to be the best of the rest. The announcement stated that there was more than 500 entries to the contest and since there was so many high-end weapon finishes sent to compete against others they decided to select three winners instead of one as previously announced. Here's the snapshot of the three best weapon finishes handpicked by the judges:

Valve's comments:
"Made by Andy and DryDoctor egg, Desolate Space will be their first finish featured in CS:GO. This design applies a custom illustration to the M4A4 body. The level of detail and saturation make the design a great fit for a Classified rarity."

Valve's comments:
"One of the categories we were looking for was a Restricted rarity AWP. This design by apёl7 wears its inspirations on its sleeve but manages to be understated making it a great fit for a Restricted rarity finish. This will be apёl7’s first finish to be featured in CS:GO."

Valve's comments:
"G-99Factory’s finish takes the cues from some iconic 70’s and 80’s sci-fi designs and applies them to the PP-Bizon with fantastic attention to detail. The work is nuanced yet not overwhelming. Along with the limited color palette it really fulfills our call for a Mil-Spec rarity finish."

Valve also stated that the selection for winners were really hard since there was alot of amazing submissions posted for the contest and the final top three selection didn't come easy.

Community hopes to see similar contests by the CS:GO Team and Valve doing in the future aswell and also their post stated the members and community should be prepared for future contests in similar setup.

it's really sick as well, and you see how much work they put in those.
I feel like playing this AWP on Nuke gives you shivers!

What do you think about the Scavanger AWP in the "Honorable Mention"-Section? It kinda reminds me of Borderlands tbh, but I think it's great as well.
