Mythic Entertainment released Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC) about 12 years ago. The game is an MMORPG and came with tri-realm RvR (Realm vs Realm) feature which set the standart for massive PvP for years! DaoC's 12th anniversary will be celebrated with RP, XP, and BP bonuses.
The game itself was developed by an initial team of 12 people, and 13 additional Engineers, Artists, and Designers joined the team to build Arthurian Albion, Nordic Midgard, and Celtic Hibernia.
Engineer, Matthew Doetsch-Kidder says:
"By the end of the summer of 2001, we had completed the three Realms, the combat system, the Relic system, and fleshed out the archetypes and classes for each realm. Dark Age of Camelot was ready for the world."
A couple of weeks later it was officially the best selling PC game of October, 2001. Thousands of players were joining every day.
The number of players to experience DAoC are millions and in 2010, Dark Age of Camelot received Ten Ton Hammer’s “Best PvP Game of the Decade” award.
