Undead Labs: State of Decay

Microsoft Studios' Undead Labs has revealed their upcoming title State of Decay, a game for every lover and devoted follower of post-apocalyptic zombie plots.

The game is promising to be a huge evolve on every zombie game we have ever seen. The whole world of State of Decay will be opened for players to explore and act the way they want to; yet, everything will bring consequences.

With this real-time developed story, the content of this game will be dynamically generated depending on your actions, every single decision you made, will get everything to change. During the development of the story, players will need to work for their survival, this means that they will need to look for shelter, water, food...and not like every other game in which the survivors just go around "killing" zombies.

With the resources players get, there will be a need to enhance the defenses of your shelter, this to be able to survive another day after the attack of hordes of zombies trying to get some fresh flesh.

As a survivor players will be able to decide where to set up their fortified safe haven , to be able to survive and give shelter to other survivors that will appear along the way; then, form raiding parties to go outside and gather more resources for the survival of the group. Yet, players will need to be aware that noises will catch zombies' attention, so a tactical plan will be completely needed, just in case of emergency.

According to the developers, players will be able to "dive through windows, jump on cars, and take it to the living dead with baseball bats".

Definitely, basically you can use anything you find in your way, that makes this game something that, personally, I will be waiting to be released, as it is going to be for PC and Xbox 360

Not at all, this game doesn't even have a release date set yet, as it is being worked on still for the Xbox platform

There is no release date yet; I have been trying to get an answer from Undead Labs but have not been successful so far about a date.

Well, I haven't played much those other titles, so I can't do an actual comparison, all I can say is about the features of the game.

You must build your shelter, or at least build defenses for it (as you can use one already built house for this matter)
You will need to go out and search for resources, such as water, food, lumber....without this, your character won't survive, nor your shelter
Game is developed in real time, which means, every decision you take, will bring a consequence, for example, if you are in the woods and there are no zombies around, and you make noise while gathering resources, they will hear you and go to your position

Those are the main features revealed so far, any further information, I will be definitely posting in here.

Latest update has been given, the game will be released at any time during 2013, and it is going to be just for XBLA platform
