1. Download
or decide to do the editing with regular Notepad.
2. Open "register.php" fand delete the 1st and second line, looks like this;
Code:
require_once('recaptchalib.config.php');
require_once('recaptchalib.php');
After you've done that, go to line 43 on the same .php file and remove this;
Code:
// Validate reCAPTCHA. This is to prevent someone botting account creation.
$response = recaptcha_check_answer($recaptcha_private_key,$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'],$_POST['recaptcha_challenge_field'],$_POST['recaptcha_response_field']);
if(!$response->is_valid){
if($response->error == 'incorrect-captcha-sol'){
$errors['recaptcha'] = 'Incorrect answer to reCAPTCHA';
}else{
$errors['recaptcha'] = $response->error;
}
}
and save the file.
3. Go to register.view.php and delete
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">var RecaptchaOptions = {theme:'clean'};</script>
and
Code:
Please type this in the text box below to prove you are human
<?php echo recaptcha_get_html($recaptcha_public_key); ?>
div style="height: 5px;"> </div>
4. If you're using
then also delete "recaptchalib.config.php and recaptchalib.php"
5. If you still want a bit of "Security" against botters, I'd recommend the email verrification
These also includes the RECAPTCHA, but you can remove it on the same way as listed above. Further instructions about the email verrification are in her thread aswell. And check the register.view.php/register.php/db.config.php and other files if there is any other track of the recaptcha, if there is, remove that too but be careful with what you delete.
Don't forget to configure db.config.php for your server
I hope this helped you if you decide to delete the recaptcha!
