SREmu Setup Guide

Hope you will make this Sticky, as I have been member on SREmu site for a while and know a bit about it, so thought I would create this, with images also making it quite simple to setup.

All links are from direct site and I will update this topic if needs be.
Please Scan these files if you feel necessary, but these are direct links.

Thinks to note before setting up:

[COLOR=blue]+ No interaction with NPC yet. [/COLOR]

Emulator Currently at:

Lets Begin:

1. First of all you need to download Subversion

Once downloaded, Install.


2. Install Visual basic 6
The SREmu site will not provide the link for this so i had to hunt it down for a while and tracked it down.

That site has different hosts and in series of parts.
#The alternative to this is downloading the compiled version.

3. Open CMD

[COLOR=blue]GO to Start>Run>Cmd[/COLOR]

Then type in this command:

[COLOR=blue]svn co http://svn.darkinc.net/srvb/[/COLOR]

Subversion will download this, you will need to do this every revision update.


4.Hosts:
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Find this file and edit it with notepad and add these 2 lines to it, then save

127.0.0.1 gwgt1.joymax.com
127.0.0.1 gwgt2.joymax.com

#Note this will need to be edited again to play the normal Silkroad.


5.Modified Client
Last but not least, you will need to download the modified client

When downloaded place this in your Silkroad Folder, but do not replace the other simply name the original "sro_client_backup".

To start open "prjVBEmu" then on right panel hit frMain, then hit play button up top, the server is now online, then start up modified client by double clicking it in folder but best to creat shortcut on desktop for it

Above is link to item lists, simply go search crtl+f tp find ones you want to equip. In the files you downloaded go account and simply edit it, above is what items go where for example Item0you will see will be hat

0=hat
1=shirt
2=shoulders
3=gloves
4=pants
5=boots
6=weapon
7=shield
8=theif/hunter/trader/cape
9=ear ring
10=neclace
11=ring
12=ring
*13=avatar
*14 & further slots=inventory

Spawning:

.spawn <mobid> <0/1/4>

The 0/1/2 stands for the size of the monster:
0: Normal
1: Champion
4: Giant

Some ID'S might result in a game crash till further updates


Playing with friends
This guide will show you how to play with friends.

What you need:
1. Visual Basic 6
2. The project's source which is the guide above in creating it
3. LogMeIn Hamachi

What do your friends need?
1. The modified sro_client

Guide

Launching Hamachi
1. Hit the Power button to get you connected.
2. Hit the second button, and create a new network:
3. If steps above worked then you should get an IP adress up top like this:

#Memorize this.

Now edit your hosts file.
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Open the file up with either notepad or editplus 3

127.0.0.1 gwgt1.joymax.com
127.0.0.1 gwgt2.joymax.com

Launch the prjVBEmu in Visual Basic 6
Open up modules on right panel, then mod game server.
Then crtl+f and search "127" replace both 127.0.0.1 with your Hamachi IP address earlier


What does your friend has to do:
He installs Hamachi.
1. Hit power button
2. Get him to join a network and search your network server name and type in password
3. Hit the Join button

He then edits his host file like you with notepad or edit plus 3.
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Once he launches his modified client and your server is running you should be able to play together.

Ye i just thought this breaks it down a bit more, his goes into more detail specifically with spawning and items etc, just couple of lines for setting up. I am hoping to expand this.

I have finished the guide, if you feel anything needs adding from now on or have questions post them. This guide if very similar to Gunnerbois but i have broken it down, made it more simple and added a bit more like playing with friends.

This is how I always do it

Download all revision in one map.
Compile it with VB6
Start prvjemu.exe
Edit my account
Start with cracked no dc.

The part about the cmd is not really nessecary
