Anyways, here's how you find exploits:
1. First, find an ingame function that teleports the player into a different map, whether it's walking into a new map, talking to an NPC that teleports you, or even something like the Safari Zone that teleports you automatically(I think?).

I didn't check those functions myself, but I highly doubt that those functions can be exploited.

2. Analyze the packet to see if there is some sort of map identification hex'ed into the packet's bytes.

3. If so, try modifying it and sending the packet. If it works, you'll be teleported into a new map.


I remember that there was an old lady in the ghost tower that teleports you to a pokecenter if you pay her some $. You might be able to exploit that.

Even though this post is old, you just gave me one hell of an idea. Except the difference would be teleporting to different towns/cities through the use of the Pokemon center and escape ropes! Maybe each town will have there own unique packet that can be exploited. I can definetily get the escape ropes to work, it's just a matter of expanding to different towns

You do know client sided shinys mean to you they look shiny, but to the server it is not.
Basically you are faking yourself to believe you have a shiny.
