Presenting L2Luna
Introduction
L2Luna is a highly customized Lineage 2 server. The idea is not to be just another Lineage 2 server clone (there's about a million out there), but an entirely new spin on the Lineage 2 gaming experience. Our developers have completely trashed the class system that you are familiar with in favor of classes some of you may know from Defense of the Ancients. There are currently 17 custom classes, roughly inspired from heroes from DotA, with many more on the way!
But the differences don't stop there. Our developers have also created over 100 custom accessory items based on items available in DotA. Obtaining these powerful items requires Lunar Shards, which can be obtained slowly by defeating monsters or quickly through defeating other players. Beware though, other players may kill you to speed up their own shard farming. This PvPvE system works very well to encourage people to PvP.
PvP Rank System
Battle and defend your honor against the toughest opponents in the world of Luna. Earn PvP points in the Coliseum and rank up your character through our unique PvP score ranking system. Our PvP system gives players a reason to PvP and rewards them for their success and hard work. Higher ranked players will receive special perks and powerful buffs in town which will help you on your conquest of Luna.
Achievement System
We have created an achievement system which rewards you for reaching certain points in your gaming. Kill 5 players in PvP while in walk mode and earn the 'Sensei Achievement' which grants increased P.Def or play for 200 hours and earn the 'Veteran Achievement' for increased movement speed. Earn over 10 different achievements, each with 10 levels. These achievements are tracked for every character and will also be displayed on the website. Reach all achievements to unlock special rewards and abilities.
Items
Our Luna accessories can be mixed and matched to create a unique build to fight your opponents. Most of a players power is in their choice of build and strategy. One player can be completely different from the next just because of his choice in items. Some items have powerful active skills and proc effects. Cranium Basher for example has a 5% chance to stun your target for 3 seconds each time you hit them. Scythe of Vyse turns your target into a helpless rabbit for 7 seconds during which you can kill them.
Masteries
All classes can use any weapon type and armor type. We have created special weapon and armor masteries which you can choose for each character you make. Build your own character the way you want. Heavy armor for high P.Def, light armor for speed and crit, sword mastery for evasion, 2 handed weapon mastery for skill cooldown, and others. You decide your build.
Classes
Every class on Luna is completely different from one another unlike in retail Lineage 2 where a Dark Elf dagger is pretty much the same as a Light Elf Dagger class. Every single class has a set of 9 unique skills which have synergies with one another and are actually useful. No more "Eva's Blessing". Here's a list of classes: Dragon Knight, Stealth Assassin, Crystal Mage, Holy Knight, Druid, Lycantrope, Medusa, Invoker, Lightning Revenant, Necrolyte, Enchanter, Bloodseeker, Drow Ranger, Shadow Priest, Techy, Dread Lord, Warchief, and more to come.
Buffs
Free 1 hour buffs in town. These buffs are unlike retail, however. There are no retail skills, classes, items, or buffs. Every player will receive a free rank 1 buff in town but in order to receive higher rank buffs you must compete against other players in brutal PvP in the Coliseum in an all out, no holds bar free for all. Not enough? Beef yourself up with powerful luna items and choose the skills and abilities YOU WANT instead of being like everyone else on retail-like servers.
Level/Skill System
We have completely revamped the character progression system with a 25 level limit. There is little feel of a "grind" as you learn how to play your class and the various effects of your skills. You will learn your skill every level and are limited to learning 90 of your 100 skill levels. This is another aspect of Luna that will make your character unique from the others who share your class type. Don't worry if you mess up your skill selection though, you can always reset your skills and relearn them.
Active Development
Our devs have been working over two years on this server and it will continue to be worked on for years to come. This project will never be abandoned unlike most 3 month servers that only take donations and shut down. Some developers you may recognize that have contributed to this project include: GTHaxor, Kishay, darkmenx, MrMac, LittleArchy, testdude, Kold, and imoett/blackheart.
Unique Attribute and Damage Systems
We have borrowed the attribute system from DotA and applied it with our own twist on Luna. You can gain Power, Agility, and Brilliance to buff up your powers. There are also new damage and defense types including pure damage, pure hp damage, hp removal, damage mitigation, armor, and others which work on different formulas.
