this is just to share my idea about item drops and quest items/kills acquisition..

i think drops,quest items/kills are predetermined once you've entered a dungeon (that is, after the dungeon loading screen)..

im sure many of you have experienced something like this:
example 1:
1. youre in a party of two and your on a 3rd job quest
2. your companion leaves say at the first stage
3. you see that the boss gaikoz has a mission scroll icon before its name (yes!)
4. after killing him you still didnt get any sword?
this is because the sword was meant to be for your companion..

example 2:
1. you asked some friends for help in mana valley to obtain the chaos orb or the honor rune scroll or xenia pearl from the boss
2. you asked them to leave right before the boss stage so that you take all the loots
3. after killing the boss, it only dropped one of those you wanted or just a crystal, or it apparently dropped nothing at all
well, life doesnt always go as you intended..

i think while loading the dungeon, every item drop is being determined as to whom it will go to..it is also not true that the chances of getting a quest item is lowered with a bigger party, neither you share the chances of obtaining a quest item..i think it is predetermined whether YOU get quest items for that DUNGEON RUN or not..
this is just intended to hopefully minimize annoying rituals such as the "last hit" superstition :Þ

TS is right, that's why i prefer to go solo in dungeons so i can get all the loots and so that i don't get this idea: "DPAT S KIN UNG ITEM N UN EH! MANG-AAGAW KA!!"...

btw, just a Tip eto hindi ritual! try to finish any Archemedian dungeon in champion mode, u'll get a lot of cards and cool stuffs, right now i'm farming in Undermine, OMG i love their sentry keeper set and they keep on dropping them (i think there's a 20% chance of getting it from every monster!) and a lots of card (the Big drillman there gives a card with 4.5% crits) not bad instead of a rare Duel card which gives 4.6% crit (oh cmon! .1%? difference?! astig lng ung picture nya dun eh!)

this is definitely true.. i agree with this.. the one who said that the quest item drop rate decreases with more party members is definitely not thinking.. >_<
