These just give a general over view into the different builds you can go into with a warrior, and will hopefully help one decide what to do.
Str/Int:
One of the most efficient leveling and PvP builds ingame.
Limit your str to the minimum requirements for the next lvl of weapon, and pour the rest of the points in int, ignoring dex completely. Be sure to max out PoW and, if you want, Bear's vigor. The Int causes the Prayer of Warrior to really shine, so you don't miss defense as much as a build with lack of dex should. However, PoW provides defense that's much better for PvE, and much less for PvP.
Generally, str is limited to about 150, because rare weapons are now easy to find at lvl 55. However, this does not always have to be the case. Extra str=extra health and a reasonable amount of CA, too, so push str up as much as you like.
2nd Job Promotion: As a str/int, its advisable to choose the champion class, as the Weaken offense skill really comes in handy while PvP'ing. It prevents str and dex builds from exploiting your defense too much. Musa, though, is also a good choice, because its debuff skill helps in gathering mobs, and its defense skill acts as a back up
incase PoW fails (which it has been known to do on several occasions).
Dex/int:
Highly efficient leveler and PvP'er, once again. Its disadvantage compared to the str/int build is largely the lower CA thanks to the lack of str, and the lack of hp. In this case, PoW can be maxed out, but if you really wish to PvP, a lvl 12 Bear's Vigor is almost a must. With this build, you can do one of two things:
1) Limit your dex to the minimum lvl required for the next lvl of weapon, till about lvl 57-64, while pouring the rest of the points in int. After getting your dex up to about 120 or so, start focussing on str, to improve your health, CA and physical attack (to do some serious damange with critical hits in PvP). In a sense, one could turn into a hybrid build by following the stat distribution I've suggested, but a hybrid warrior at high lvls works really well.
2) Continue with a large amount of points going into int, and the rest into dex, so that you have enough dex for every level of weapon there is. With the offense you get from PoW, even PvP is no problem, especially with the critical hits provided by the dex. Health, in this case is a problem, but easily solved with HP accessories. The dex helps against skills and provides massive defense, making you a harsh grinder.
2nd Job Promotion: Musa, purely for
the defense debuff. Or champion, if you'd rather raise your own survival rate with its offense debuff, but musa works really well with this
Str/Dex:
A PvP build. Hell to lvl beyond lvl 60, but so terrific at PvP, one doesn't really have to lvl beyond 60 with this build if they don't wish to.
Str and dex can be raised in a ratio, or dex can be limited to the dex weapon level requirements, even after getting a rare weapon. A few points in int should be added so that PoW and lvl 50 skills can be used. Maxing out Bear's vigor would result in you having a high lvl of hp, which can be done as your skill points don't really go into anything else. This build relies on its physical attack and critical hits in PvP and PvE alike, but lacks combat attack and defense. Purely skill defensive gears should be used, along with a suitable mount like a black horse, to provide a CA shield in both PvP and PvE.
2nd Job Promotion: With low int, the buffs and debuffs of both jobs are quite ineffective till the skill book reaches about lvl 10 or so. Musa would probably be a better choice, as its debuff reduces defense, which will be useful against really high lvl players in PvP.
Hybrid
Generally
consists of all three stats built almost equally. This build is just ok at everything. It has average health, and can survive in PvP, but not do much in terms of attack with skills. Your lvling rate is slightly below average, but as a warrior, your attack power from Prayer of Warrior will come in handy with the amount of dex you have. This is one build that can go anyway you wish, with most points in int, with str and dex at equal lvls, or average dex with high str and moderate int, or whatever.
2nd Job Promotion: Champion, since your defense will be about the same as a str/int build, and the attack debuff will help you somewhat in PvP.
Pure Strength
Possibly the most difficult build to lvl. You have a dex of about 100 (not the same as str/dex, because with that build, str and dex are built in a ratio) and you have absolutely no int. All your points go in str, so you naturally use str weapons. Skill points go into PoW, vigor of bear, and 2nd job promotion skills, but apart from those skills, you don't have the int for anything else. This build is better suited for assassins, though with warriors, it turns a player into an almost undefeatable tank.Mount is a must for grinding.
2nd Job Promotion: Musa, to lower your opponent's defense, or to raise your own for an extended period of time.
Pure Dexterity
Probably one of
the more efficient single stat builds. This build is nearly impossible to kill, because of the high lvl of dex, which provides both defense and resistance to skill attacks. A few points should be distributed in int, about 80-100, for the benifit of PoW and skills, to let you grind better. Str can be left alone, but health accessories and maxing out Bear's Vigor is a must for survival. The dex makes this build a great PvP'er, too, with harsh critical hits and moderate physical hits thanks to the dex and the PoW respectively. This build has a moderate lvling rate in early stages, but starts getting progressively slower lvl 50+. SAR weapons should be used for PvE, and AR weapons for PvP.
2nd Job Promotion: Most definitely musa. Champion buffs are not needed when PoW is available. The musa debuff will help in both grinding and PvP'ing.
Pure Intelligence
Definitely a restat build. This build has the same rise in CA as a dex/int build has, because it has no str to support it. But since the lvl of int is so high, CA is quite high as well. High power PoW, stronger than the PoW of any other build at the same lvl, but suffers from lack of hp. Here, HP items and pure defense items are a must. Good in PvP, but suffers lack of CA at higher lvls.
2nd Job Promotion: Champion for PvP, Musa for PvE. It is my belief that this build may not be too effective at PvP (because of low str) so its probably better to choose musa, just to lvl fast.
