The fact, that Steam experienced improvements during the last years, has been noticed by most active PC gamers, but Valve hasn't made any explicit remarks or indications yet. Gabe Newell, who represents the management, just recently commented on this topic in person and revealed some interesting statistics.
Meanwhile, Valve's multiplayer platform Steam dominates the majority of the PC game market and its expansion seems not to cease. There also was a considerable expansion of the company in the last year. However, Gabe Newell officially unveiled interesting information at the BAFTA Awards. Thus he stated, that they achieved a business growth of over 50% during the last year and he doesn't expect, that the company's development could change for the worse.
For example, Steam has reached 6 million users online at once towards the end of last year.
"There's an insatiable demand for gaming right now," he said in an interview and named Dota 2 as an example. "With the last Dota 2 update, we were generating three and a half terabits per second. That's about two percent of the total mobile and internet-based activity just for a single game update", he claimed.
