The Wii U is the first home console with it's own dedicated screen, and it brings a new level of depth to how games are played. With this, Mr Miyamoto knew that the Wii U would have to be the platform for the next Pikmin title.
Pikmin 3 is made possible by the Wii U's powerful graphics processor, allowing for easier distinction between the pikmin themselves, and the background scenery. The Wii U GamePad also, like with many other games, adds a new dimension and new depth to the game.
The game is to feature the new "rock pikmin", able to break hard objects.
The basic controls of the game will involve the Wii Remote+ and Nunchuck, as well as some functions from the GamePad, such as a map, and camera controls.
The game will support up to four leaders at one time, but no Captain Olimar, for undisclosed reasons. The GamePad will contain information on all four players.
There is no information on when the game will be released as of yet, but hopefully we can expect this as a launch title.
