Microsoft has unveiled gameplay of their new title, Halo 4, in their press conference at E3 2012.
The demonstration started with a photo-realistic live-action trailer where the large spaceship UNSC, which was lost in space at the end of Halo 3, has crashed onto a mysterious Forerunner planet.
The game includes new creatures such as a four-legged dog-like creature which Cortana describes as “some kind of defense AI,” and were capable of spawning shields. Gameplay also showed large bug-like creatures that are capable of catching grenades thrown at them and flinging it back.
These new enemies travel in packs and some of these creatures were only found once a new visor device was turned on.
There was also new weaponry -- the rail gun, and a gun that works most effectively at close-range.
