Will you be posting source code some time soon? Not trying to be pushy but it would be helpful to others. Just asking since you said you would post the source when you are done updating your bot.

That might happen sometime. I said I would post the source when I can no longer maintain it but as it is for now I am hoping that maybe during the summer break I might play some and there is always 2.0 coming. If you need any help with anything I am more than happy to help where I can as I have provided source code to some people already, just not all of Otto at once.
OP has been updated with v0.9.1.0. Added editing of chains, markers, and offsets from within Otto. Moved some other values to settings so that they can be updated without a recompile. Added a Memory help file. Modified the guildleve processing so that if the journal list selected index pointer chain is bad, Otto will just blindly keep trying entries until the max count is hit (max count is in settings file).

Abnormal Keylogger?
Ok, I have had my concerns.. I have been using this program for a lil while now, but just now when I started the program.. while in cycle a Firefox window popped up but, I switched to a forum I was currently writing a topic and saw the URL of my bank get put in in text field of forum, along with my username, security question answer and password..
My antivirus did not detect anything(running again), but this is too much of a coincidence.
Be aware.

Poster above me is an idiot.
There is nothing malicious about this file/program. It has been scanned by several users and it has been used for several months by many of us.

As have I. I was just stating my experience with it recently. The fact that I saw my personal info being typed in front of my own eyes is what made me come to the conclusion that there is some malicious program on my computer that executed when I started this program and was running through cycle, that was my observation. I have been using this program for months, it was the first time I noticed this.

I have never used any other programs from this site, but i doubt anyone would chose FFXIV as a medium to steal bank account information. I could see ffxiv account information, but you dont exactly expect cream of the crop (income wise) in an MMO that most people refuse to even pay play. Especially those picking up free bots.
Now, in order to write a script that keylogs without being detected, parses every web page you visit for security questions (dynamic encrypted content), and get all the right information needed in a pretty little package (you have to accept there is too much garbage information flying around). It would require some skill. But then to open a page in front of you and show you the collected information (That would require a severe lack of skill).
If the individual has the skill to collect the information, they certainly don't need to use firefox to deliver it. Since you installed the program on your computer and gave it administrator rights it can do what every bad program does best, work without you ever suspecting a thing.
If you indeed saw a program on your computer performing the actions described above you should change your bank information as of two days ago (on a non infected computer), reformat the hard drive and watch what you download because you have been doing something a little worse than a bot in ffxiv. You should also contact your bank and let them know to be alert for any unauthorized payments, your information has been compromised. They may reissue you a new card and probably change your account numbers, but at least you are safe.
If it was a misunderstanding, or an attempt to slander a free bot to promote purchase of any number of pay bots, please accept a swift boot to the hiney.

My system does not report any viruses. I am hoping that this observed behavior is unrelated to Otto as it is the first I have heard of anything like it.
If anyone finds anything in Otto that is dangerous please let me know since that is not why I did any of this.
As of right now, Otto doesn't even simulate typing properly as I need to fix a shifted key issue which has been very low on the priority list.

Having a bit of a weird issue, nothing really major as the bot tends to work flawlessly for crafting but every so often it will use Rapid for no reason. It didn't recently do Perfection and I've even unchecked Perfection and Preserve (figuring that it may have gotten confused b/c I saw it use rapid after hitting Preserve) and sometimes it still just hits Rapid. I've looked over the options and the logic but I see nowhere that allows me to tell it to never do Rapid ever, or any option that allows it to aside from the aforementioned Perfection->Rapid which I had turned off.
I've noticed it often ignores abilities now too, it'll cycle past Hand of the Gods and when enabled it even skips over Perfection and goes straight to Standard. I've got the newest version so I'm not too certain what the problem may be. To add, I'm not doing anything in the foreground. This is with me running it and simply watching without using the internet or doing anything else really so there shouldn't be any interference.

I agree there is not likely a virus in Otto; the "phone home" method is exceptionally unlikely to include pasting text into a browser... what is it doing? In the wee hours of the morning when you're not looking, it is going to open the window and paste all of your private data into a text field on some pirate's webpage?</sarcasm> Honestly, that sounds like the conjecture of someone who does not understand how computers work. A malicious author would perform the action in the background just like most of what computer programs do. More likely, they have the information typed into a file and they accidentally copied the entire file and somehow pasted into the webpage, or dragged the file there[?] and its contents were displayed. There are other similar possiblities, like the person uses a macro program or keyboard, and had it recording one time, played it... in any case it stinks of user error to me.
As for getting someone's security question, it *is* encrypted while it is passed over the Internet, but for someone running a program (not a browser plugin), it would not be difficult to capture input before it is encrypted. People should take banking security seriously; most banks offer the ability to SMS or call you with an automated system to provide a one-time use PIN number. If your bank offers that service, you should use it even if you pay for every SMS message you receive. You should also have antivirus software, and it should be updated. The same goes for Windows Update and a firewall. Finally, don't keep all of your banking details in a file on your computer. Write them down and keep that paper in a safe place.
I'm not endorsing Otto, but I don't think anyone has any concrete reason to suspect it of having any malicious code. Quite the opposite: Otto is not obfuscated (hidden) source code. ANYONE can look at the source code. So if there is a virus, someone should find it; I've seen 75%+ of it and not noticed anything out of the ordinary.
Hopefully this will help non-technical users understand the strange/ridiculous nature of Reevergita's claim.
