Even if you could change it, it will all be client side. EO works a lot like CO so when you "change" a drop, lets say 10 gold on the ground to 1e6 gold and try to pick it up, your client tells the server "I want to pick the item at X, Y", not "I want to pick up Z" where Z is the item you want to pick up.
