well if you host a server from your computer you can log on to it and play it without internet, of course no one else would be on it because it wouldnt be online.

other than that, if your looking to play with other people, youve gotta be connected to the net

u can host a server on LAN by leaving the ip adresses to default(127.0.0.1)
