is the mysql green light on?
are the config settings wrght?

There's A guide somewhere around here that can help you set up your server, Read the Guide and make sure you edited the info correctly. Simple stuff that is over looked can cause errors or whatever you want to call them.

Did you look at a guide to make sure you edited everything right? If so, Check again to be sure. As I said before, One little mistake can cause errors.
