Wii ModChips

First of all what is a ModChip some of you may ask ...

A: Modification chip or modchip is a device used to play import discs, backup dvd-r/ dvd-rw, or homebrew game roms & emulators and also to circumvent the digital rights management of many game consoles, including the Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Wii

Second , why should you mod your Wii ?

A:
  • Play Backups or Copies of Wii Games
  • Run EU and JAP games on a USA console
  • Play all region DVD movies on your Wii
  • Launch copied / backup GameCube game DVD's
  • Play free roms and emulators
  • Use unlicensed homebrew applications and games

More info :

Some
( you'll see later why I put some ) ModChip's break your warranty . So if you're Wii bricks or get's damaged Nitendo isn't responsible for it anymore .

Advantages of Chip-modding and Soft-modding :

Soft-modding : a big advantage of Soft-modding is that it installs HomeBrew Channel . And with HomeBrew Channel you can use some specific programs that are not available with Chip-modding .
one disadvantage of Soft-modding is that it can/may brick your console . But that doesn't happen if you are careful .

More information about and how to : and .

Chip-modding : advantage - it's more safe , meaning it cannot do any damage to your console and much easier to install and use .
disadvantage - some ModChips don't have Region Free / Video Player working . With Soft-modding you can install video + music player via HomeBrew and there are several programs with region free .

Ok enough with this let's get to the ModChips , shall we ?

Note: My Wii is Modded with WiiKey 2 . If you want a chip that doesn't break your warranty it's ok to use this because you can get it off anytime . But this chip has kinda no Region Free working and at some games ( Super Mario Galaxy for exaple , it's one of them ) has intro video problems ( the sound is just .... impossible to understand )

I'm trying to sell our wii and listed it on craigslist. I haven't had any offers yet and I'm wondering if I have it priced too high. It's only 3 months old and the kids have barely played it (which is why I'm trying to sell it). It was the regular package from Meijer that came with one controller, one num chuck the sensor and the wii sports game. We bought the sports accessory pack (the baseball bat, tennis racket, gold club) and another num chuck, plus a rechargeable battery and pack, and we have 3 other games as well. I listed it at $350. Do you think I should lower it, and if so how much do you think it's worth?
