Too many channels to export error

when i want to edit a armor.. my current is black 120 armor big male.

i want to save the file (i just opened the dds file i needed, and edited it and then click save) , but it says: too many channels to export.
what do have to do?

i have a dds Plugin installed.. what do i have to do? :?

i have the same problem with dekaron changing my armor colors and it give error ; to many channels to export (5)

save it as a .tga (targa) 32bit with alpha channel instead
re-open the .tga
save THAT as .dds

make sure you flaten the image when you are finished that seems to work good for me as well as make sure you don't have more than one alpha channel. like where you have the channels tab check and make sure you only have one alpha mask. should clear things up swiss's solution works too depending on if what i said makes sense haha

this happens when your bottom layer has transparency inherited from the layer, and not the ALPHA layer itself. Be sure your bottom most layer has no transparency. if you edited your bottom layer or have it set to not see it, you'll get this error. Hope this helps!

best fix to this youll all be like D: to this....

when u go 2 save it and it says that, right click the layers and hit "flatten image" then all sudden BAM itll work >.<

better question, anyone kno if COF is still online and if so can someone pm me the new url i miss it
