Download and install The DirectX Software Development Kit. After that you can either go in the conquer folder, then the folder with the DDS files, and click on Thumbnail view. If you can see them, click Open with and choose DirectX Texture Viewer. The third way is going to Start>Run and type in dxtex.exe. This will open the DirectX Texture viewer.
You should have your color depth to 32 or 16 bits and a resolution or 800 by 600 or 1024 by 768. Maybe on some computers it will work at higher but for DirectX use this resolution it seems some people have a problem with higher resolution. This instructions only apply for DirectX SDK.

Here is thw download for the site:

The DirectX SDK is around 150 mbs.

Another DDS Thumbnail viewer from nVIDIA:

This one is 1.8 MB

Another DDS Viewer:

This one is 61KB.

Heres another DDS viewer, theres many you can find on Google. It's just that the DirectX SDK has alot of nice extra features not only the DDS viewer.

I havent tried it. Im on my P1 comp and I dont got CO installed here.

Seraphicz, do you have DirectX 9.0c ?
Did you restart your computer ?
Change your resolution maybe, not the color depth.

Map viewing tool.
08/06/2022 - CO2 Exploits, Hacks & Tools - 7 Replies
So, I thought I'd share this little tool I've been working on for a while, though not progressed much. I've got it into a state where it should run provided you have .Net 3.5 and DirectX. The plan is to make it into an full map editor, and it could potentially become a custom client later on. I don't get much chance to work on it, so I'm looking for anyone interested in contributing. DirectX knowledge would be preferred. You'll also need to put up with my Nazi coding standard. I'll need to...

04/13/2007 - Conquer Online 2 - 3 Replies
Having just restarted playing conquer recently, I was a bit disappointed with the equipment window. One of the new patches have changed the character's viewing angle. Instead of seeing the character straight ahead, its now more of a top down view at an angle. I perfer the old view of the character, does anyone have any idea on how to get the old view back? For those who dont know what I mean, heres a screenshot http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/5052/conquerzg 7.jpg

First make sure you have the version of directX 9.0 SDK if you dont pay a visit to microsoft.com search&download the directX 9 SDK the file is around 190MB. Now if you have installed, you goto your Start button, then u go to the map Microsoft DirectX SDK Update, now you choose the texture viewer, open the program and open the .dds file. Congratz its easier to watch the texture files now! Trust me it works! And problally lots of people asked for this i dont...
