For My First Project which will be the best to use.

Hello everyone, few month i have stopped my project "Rise Of Kronus" Because my college started and i got my classes for VB and c++ which is allot of fun!

So my goal is to make a co server on vb, not to open a server with it just to have it for educational purpose. but i will need some help this which is why i created this thread, i need a Sub Source to guide me the way and i was wondering which one will you recommend me to look at it,

There few good ones out there but i am not pro at this like this. so if you guys know any let me know, thank you.

None of these sources are written in VB....
They are all in C# and a couple are in C++.

So basically if you want a server entirely written in VB you will need to start from scratch and convert C# code to VB.net

Well then your choice pretty much comes down to which patch you want to work with.
Later patches use Blowfish etc etc

Personally, the Albetros source and the Project X 3.2 source are great sources in that they are easy to read and understand.
There are quite a few others out there that are not so easy.

But of course everyone has their own preferences.

COPS v6 does not use the new asynchronous socket... I think. I'm not saying not to use it but I'm saying make your sockets and then use that as a base. Be warned that when using a source to base your own off of you tend to not use your own style of coding and use one you do not even know.

Hybrid's "Bugless" 5017 source is known for being a simple, clean source. I highly recommend you use it as a reference.

I got pretty far with the downgraded Project Manifest that Kiyono released, I recommend that if you want to learn how to do flat-file but idk depends on what you want to do really.

@Fang - way too simple, I think that's why people don't even bother downloading it.

Nope. The source is still available.

@Gragen - You can't even log into Arco's 5017 source because who ever was working on it right before it's release screwed up the login. I personally think that would be a good start but yah seeing as it's not a successful release I wouldn't bother with it.
