I can prove you wrong right there.
HeliumGaming < That was a Hamachi server to start of with. Had plenty of players.
InfernalGaming < Hamachi Server to start of with. Had plenty of Players.
The list does go on and on. But these2 spring to mind. I know neither of them are active anymore but they are prime examples of Hamachi Servers that succeded.

But that was years ago right.

I feel that today's players don't like to go download a whole other program and set it up just to connect to a server now.

Unless the server is getting popular and has a lot of good feedback amongst other things.
