OK i think this should be in this forum since it is relevant to the problems here and the people with this problem will look here first...
With this said lets get to fixing.
using 127.0.1.1 is a better way, because if you use your ip you will have to possibly redo it every time your ip changes... so try this using the 127.0.1.1 first then if it doesn't work then try this using your ip.
first download the server.dat file and qoproxy.ini files located at the bottom of this thread. Also get your ip, you can get your ip from a ipchecker which you can find on google.com or by going to
.
Next open the qoproxy.ini file and replace where it says [127.0.1.1 or your ip] with 127.0.1.1 or the ip you get from ipchicken.com.
Next save the qoproxy.ini and place it in your qoproxy file.
Open the server.dat file using notepad or another text editing program with the replace feature. Note: make sure your opening the file from this thread.
now replace all the occurrences of 127.0.0.1 with 127.0.1.1 or your ip in the server.dat file
now save the server.dat file and backup the original and replace it in the Conquer 2.0 file (usually located in C:\Program Files\Conquer 2.0)
If there is any questions please ask, if after you do this it still doesn't work then i am sad i couldn't help you. If it works but then you lag out a little after then your computer is probably lagging then the lag gos to the proxy then to the server then in all that time you lag out and get disconnected, if this happens i am sorry i have no fix for this, maybe somebody else can help you with this... good luck. Run>cmd>ipconfig
It should say
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : XXX.XXX.X.X(copy this)
and put it instead of 127.0.0.1 in your server.dat and your QOProxy.ini
^try that instead of ipchicken.com if it is different . Also after doing this guide and it dosn't work restart your computer and try again, if it still dosn't work i am sorry i have no idea .

If this works for you please give karma, it isn't that i need it, it just makes me more creditable to the community so people won't scrutinize my threads and posts as much.

Append on Apr 29 2007, 03:04
oh and for advent syracuase's little karma comment if you look at the post he made, it did work, just the hunting feature didn't work, it is probably the .ini file, the one i used was from lakes qoproxy, i will post the one for boboproxy, just edit it like you would for the other one.

Neither of the ways worked 127.0.1.1 or changing it to my ip.
Im using Lake292's QoProxy version.

Append on Apr 29 2007, 03:14
@Hustla: i don't know what is happening to you, for everybody it works... just sometimes some features don't work, i think this was because they were using bobo and used the lakes proys ini. i don't know what to say... reinstall conquer and the patchs over again, also you will need to redo you multiclient, look at the "hot link list" in dm2000s sig for a DIY for multiclient and then do this tutorial over again. if it still doesn't work for you i am sorry.
@loucuz: ok the 127.0.0.1 is your "Local host" ip that ip is your computer, say you tried to send a file to the ip 127.0.0.1 you are sending the file to your self... it is hard to explain. to find out the ip your server gives you, go to command prompt and enter ipconfig and it will show you your ip. but the ip you need is the one you would get from ipchicken. i hope i explained this to you well enough... look at lakes explanation of 127.0.0.1 on his proxy's thread, it is around page 18-20 i think...
