I enjoyed this game. I tried to install a private server, was 10 today and failed . Link die or have server but client version not match. Please up load centos server, windows server and client. Please! I very very love this game

Hey guys i realize im comming off extremely ignorant, which i am, but the linux tutorial bit makes little to no sense to me, could someone answer me a few questions?

All i wanna do is run locally and play by myself/with my wife


Do i need linux/virtual machine in order to make this work?

If anyone can translate his instructions to a noob level i'd appreciate, it feels like he wrote it with people who already have some knowledge in mind, id like to know atleast where i could go to learn what he is talking about.



His instructions :

1. Install mysql on your server.
2. Run the 'Configurator' (Configurator/Configurator.exe) -> Linux
3. Upload the files to your server to /home/BOI
4. Chmod the directories, recursively:
chmod -R 777 /home/BOI
5. Run the 'install_packages' script, which will install the neccessary packages, and then some
/home/BOI/install_packages.sh
6. Ensure the DB Scripts for DBServer, CardServer & NameServer are the correct format:
dos2unix /home/BOI/CardServer/createtab *
dos2unix /home/BOI/DBServer/db *
dos2unix /home/BOI/NameServer/createtab *
7. Enter your mysql server and create a database named 'dbo'
mysql -uroot -p$ROOT_PASSWORD
CREATE DATABASE "dbo";
8. Run the dbo.sql script to create the neccessary tables, functions, and procedures.
mysql -uroot -p$ROOT_PASSWORD dbo < /home/boi/dbo.sql
9. Start your server, a few databases should be created (shengui, shenguiex, shenguicard)
/home/BOI/start.sh
10. Create an account username 'test' password 'test'

this server is very stable and running fine in 6 months
