do you know how many germans live in the world? a lot ^^
the language is very spread and it is teached in a lot of schools in other countrys. it is a worldwide language. i'm not very sure how many years ago germany called them self the number one nation in export but do you really want to tell me that german hasn't anything to do with buisness?

the problem why people think german isn't that spread could be the second world war and the germand colony politics at the beginning of the last hunderd years. the world is full of germans but they don't really show it. you aren't living in germany right? when you would, you also would understand the problem with the german patriotism.
what i would like to know more from you is why you think that german is a variation of english?
and you overestimate the power of english. go to china/india/russia and see how much people really talk english. from wich country do you even come?

Just to clarify, English language is derived mostly of germanic and normadic words from hundreds and hundreds of years ago, so technically german did come first ;-)

(and im english before there are any cries of bias ;-) )

Thats said English is more widely spoken but we by no means own the internet, not by a long shot.
